❤️🇵🇸❤️ TOMORROW ❤️🇵🇸❤️
The weather forecast is smiling upon us 🤞 🌞🌞🌞 and so we will be there in the front courtyard of the Mansion in Totnes, from 10am to 3pm, raising money for a Gazan family. We have a goal to make at least £500 to buy an IPad so that a young person whose education has been cut short can continue. Please come along with some cash and empty bags to buy lots of lovely things. ❤️‍🩹

🌸🪻🌷Mother’s Day 🌷🪻🌸
Today I celebrate my wonderful Mum and Nan and all of the amazing mother figures in my life. Women are incredible and we show up for the world in such a variety of caring ways.

I’m also celebrating the little miracle that is growing inside me and my first Mother’s Day as a mum to be! I can’t wait to meet our little one. My bump seems to be getting so much bigger each day!

I have also been reflecting on all of the mums around the world who just want the best for their children and are going through such struggles to keep them safe and meet their basic needs. Mums in Gaza who have worked tirelessly to protect their children against the war machine.

May all mums and mother figures be celebrated and be kept safe today and always 🌼🌼🌼

Given the HUGE success of the one last year - We go again!
Deema needs an IPad to continue her studies and I’d like to raise enough money to make that possible.
Gazan children have missed so much education, and it’s so important for her to be able to get back to her studies.
We need as many people as possible at this, and I’d love to have more volunteers to help on the day. If you feel able to come and support in any way, please let me know.

🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸Palestine will be free 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
A ceasefire is such fantastic news for our friends in Gaza.
But for everybody everywhere else, this is just the beginning.
We will make sure that nobody forgets what happened over the last 15 months. We will hold those responsible accountable. We will not rest until there is justice. Palestine you have our hearts. ♥️

Booking for the Peace Meal is now live 🫶
It will be a beautiful evening sharing food and solidarity. There will be music from our favourite buskers and also speakers on the night.

All of the money raised will go directly to the new Hands Up Project school that has now opened in Cairo and is providing education and a sense of community and wellbeing for Palestinian children who had to leave their homes in Gaza.

Tickets are £5 each and there are 50 available. Please book a ticket even if you are helping on the night so we can make sure that there are seats for everyone. ❤️

Please bring either a main course or dessert on the night with an ingredients card to share. Thanks all ❤️‍🩹

I can’t believe it has been a year since my Dad died. Today was always going to be tough. It’s a horrid anniversary that brings up so many emotions and memories of our last days together.
It feels especially hard because we didn’t know that they were our last. So many ifs and wishes and things left unsaid.
My Dad was the absolute best. He was the most intelligent man I knew but he always downplayed it. He was creative and caring and well read. I miss not having his hand me down books with a little thoughtful synopsis he would give me. He could cook really well but was often too busy with work to do it. So when he cooked it was a real treat. He knew his wine. And he loved sharing it with people. And I loved drinking it! He had impeccable taste in music and had seen so many of my favourite bands live. When someone loses count of how many times they have seen David Bowie, they’ve seen him a lot! He shared his music with everyone and most of the songs I play in the car are his recommendations. He was political and he inspired my interest in politics and social justice. He always wanted to help - he would always try to support people in need… like father, like daughter? He worked so hard for us and would have done anything for his family. He never moaned about driving us to random places or going out of his way to make sure we could do something that we wanted to do. He supported me in my dream to be an artist. It’s not every parent’s first choice for their child. But he made sure I knew that if I wanted to follow my dreams I should. He was so proud of my exhibitions and residencies. I’m so glad he got to see some of them. I miss him every single day.
But today I miss him so much that it feels as though I might collapse under the weight of it all.
My Dad was kind.
He inspired me to be kind.
It’s how I live my life and I’m so grateful for everything he taught me and instilled in me.
