🔥 A QUICK WORD ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY ALERT & FIREWORKS 🔥
We have to say it, the recent Government emergency alert telling the country not to use disposable BBQs or fireworks was, in our opinion, completely over the top.
We fully understand the reason behind warning people about the increased fire risk during prolonged hot and dry conditions. Nobody is disputing that precautions need to be taken.
But putting professionally managed firework displays under the same blanket warning is crazy.
There is a massive difference between someone lighting a disposable BBQ or setting off fireworks themselves on tinder-dry ground and a professional firework company operating a properly planned and risk-assessed display.
At Illumination Pyrotechnics, we don't simply turn up and start firing.
Every display is individually risk assessed. Ground conditions, surrounding vegetation, wind direction, weather, safety distances and fire precautions are all considered. If additional precautions are required, we put them in place.
And ultimately, if we don't believe it is safe to fire, we don't fire.
That's what being a professional operator is about, identifying the increased risk and managing it appropriately.
Warnings aimed at preventing irresponsible behaviour during extreme conditions are understandable. But suggesting that all firework use is inherently unsafe, regardless of who is operating them or what controls are in place, is another matter entirely.
