A66 Darlington overnight resurfacing – Blackwell Roundabout to Neasham Road Roundabout 🚗🚛

We’re resurfacing the A66 between Blackwell Roundabout and Neasham Road Roundabout from Monday 3 August to Saturday 22 August

All work will take place overnight, 8pm–6am, Monday to Friday, to keep daytime disruption to a minimum. We’ll also be improving signage, road markings and road studs along this stretch.

What to expect
• Sections of the A66 will be closed overnight at different times between 3–22 August:

A66 Blackwell Roundabout and Bridge Road — full closures in both directions, every weeknight between Monday 3 August (8pm) and Friday 7 August (6am)

Blands Corner Roundabout — series of half roundabout closures with traffic switches every weeknight between Monday 10 August and Wednesday 12 August

A66 Neasham Road roundabout to Blands Corner — full closure in both directions with diversion every weeknight between Thursday 13 August (8pm) and Friday 21 August (6am)

• Diversions will be fully signposted throughout Darlington.
• If you live within the closure area, an es**rt system will help you safely access your property.

Noise & disruption
Some noise is unavoidable during resurfacing. We’ll do everything we can to minimise disruption and apologise for any inconvenience.

Closures may change at short notice depending on progress, operational needs and weather.

As the new season approaches, we’re looking to grow our volunteer media team at Darlington RFC.

Whether you’re into photography, videography, or you’re just starting out and want to gain experience, we’d love to hear from you. Help us capture the action, atmosphere, and community spirit that make our grassroots club so special. 🔴⚫️

There’s no obligation – volunteer as little or as often as you like. Simply come along when you’re available and you’ll be added to our existing volunteers’ WhatsApp group to keep up to date with upcoming fixtures and events.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:
