PVR studios is a social enterprise which aims to inspire and educate people in the community

PVR studio is based in Darlington and provides studio recording facilities. One large fully equipped recording studio complete with club style DJ Booth and one smaller room fully kitted out with DJ/ Music Technology equipment. The project is the legacy of Peter Ryan a well known and much loved DJ from Darlington (PVR stands for Peter Vincent Ryan). Peter was the creator of the first and most famou

s house music parties in Darlington back in 1991 at Club Lucy's. We sadly lost Peter in September 2013 so his closest friends and DJ production partners created this project to pass Peter's passion for music on to the next generation to provide a fitting legacy to a great man. We will provide top class equipment for hire and will run Music Production and DJ courses. We believe everybody should have the chance to develop their skills and passion for music and we will provide discounted and free courses and mentoring to the underprivileged, in addition to sensibly priced courses to those who can afford it

We want to become a source of inspiration for the next generation of DJs and producers and also to inspire people who may have lost their way. To provide an environment where you can express yourself in music without distraction and with full support and mentoring from some of the most experienced producers and DJs in our area. We want to provide a social hub, supporting the local scene and providing something to aspire to for disengaged young people.

While digging through the archives I came across a folder that I hadn't seen before, it was a large collection of my late pal Peter Ryans tunes named 2012 Fattys... intrigued I started to play through some and found a goldmine of gems..... I hit record and selected and mixed two hours of these tracks on the fly and they still sound fresh and unmistakenly that underground vibe Peter did so well. It is a great way to reminisce and honour Peter by releasing this mix for you to enjoy ....so hit play and turn it up! Link in the comments!

Happy heavenly birthday to Darlington’s original godfather of house music Peter Ryan. A great man who was a pioneer of the dance scene in the Darlington area and the creator of the iconic Club Lucy’s event. A gentleman, and inspiration and a true friend, Peter is much missed but remembered with a smile. ❤️
