Pontnewydd Male Choir's 2026 AGM:
Held on the 5th of May at Pontnewydd Golf Club, just round the corner from our usual practice room at Nant Bran, this year's AGM was a particularly special occasion for a number of reasons.
Firstly, we have been excited to welcome Mr Phil Pritchard of the Top Tenors into his new role as our Chairman, replacing Mr Ian Evans after over a decade in office. At the meeting, we thanked Ian for his wonderful leadership across his tenure and we wish him a well deserved rest. Now, with continued congratulations, we look forward to enjoying Phil's time at the helm.
Secondly, this year marked the 25th year of two choristers' membership with the PMC: Mansel Young and Graham Roberts. As pictured, already hitting the ground running, Phil began his Chairmanship with the award of two life memberships to Mansel and Graham.
This year's meeting marked change in other ways too, with the promise of an overhaul of our performance repertoire in the year ahead and admittance of new members to the committee as well.
As a final, but no less pleasant note, we were most grateful to the team at the Golf Club for putting on a very delicious buffet for us to enjoy at the meeting's conclusion and for the pints which were also enjoyed with it.
