After a much-needed break, we are back with some more amazing workshops!
We'll explore the world by creating beautiful pieces of art and crafts inspired by the folklore, traditions, and artistic heritage of 5 continents:
Around the world in 5 weeks:
Each workshop will include an introduction to the tradition/craft it is based on.
4th of April: Europe - Create your Mosaic design
Have fun with paper, beads, mosaic pieces, clay, etc., to create your own mosaic inspired by ancient Rome! Wild animals, monsters, or even gods, you can create anything!
11th of April: Oceania - Make a rain stick and an Aboriginal dot painting.
We’ll decorate rain sticks and have fun designing beautiful patterns inspired by the Aboriginal dot painting technique.
18th of April: America - Design a tropical bird inspired by the Amazonian wildlife!
South America has so many colourful tropical birds, such as parrots and toucans. Design your own amazing flapping bird with cardboard, feathers, glitter and more!
25th of April: Africa - Weaving workshop inspired by the process of Kente fabric
With cardboard looms, colourful fabric, paper and more, we will create beautiful designs based on the amazing Kente weaving tradition from Ghana
2nd of May: Asia - Invent your own flags based on Tibetan prayer flags.
Combining their favourite colours, animals, and patterns, each child will create their own prayer flags with well wishes for the world. We’ll use fabrics, paper, drawing and painting techniques.
What: Our workshops are designed for children
from Primary 1 to Primary 7.
Parents are welcome to stay.
Where: Castlehill Community Hall, Cupar, Fife, KY15 4HA
When: Saturdays, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Cost: Workshops are £10 each or £45 for a block
of 5.
