Matrix Circus is a contemporary circus with community enphesis. It specialises in hula hoop dance and other spinning arts, provides fire shows, hula hoop dance & poi classes, walk-about, circus workshops & jams (not strawberry).

We’re delighted to welcome Jenny Street to HoopScotch 2026!

Jen is a multi-skilled artist who has been teaching and performing for over 16 years, gaining international recognition for her hoop dance. She runs Matrix Circus, a community-focused contemporary circus based in Cumbria, and is passionate about enhancing lives through circus arts.

Jen has a strong track record of creating touring outreach projects that engage marginalised communities. She is a former older people’s and intensive care nurse, and holds a BTEC in Circus and Physical Theatre.

Her skill set includes hoop dance, multi-hooping, circus theatre, stilt walking, interactive walkabout, fire dancing, fire safety, aerial performance, project management, singing and songwriting.

She creates visually mesmerising art that uplifts audiences, alongside thought-provoking theatre that explores human dynamics. Her work is driven by a desire to expand people’s sense of wonder and leave them feeling empowered.

We can’t wait for you to experience her magic at HoopScotch 💫
