It’s a truly stunning show: so happy with it! So very pleased to be back in the gallery full of amazing art work and for the space to be singing once again!

Join me & some of the exhibiting artists - to celebrate, to drink in the show, to ponder, to browse and to fill up with art and beauty.

K**a muta (Sanskrit: काममूत) is a psychological term for the sudden, positive emotion of being “moved by love,” characterised by feelings of oneness, warmth in the chest, tears, goosebumps, and a strong urge for connection or nurturing, often triggered by acts of kindness, heroism, or deep empathy, and described as “heart-warming” or “stirring”. It signifies a powerful moment of communal sharing or deep connection, motivating feelings of devotion and care. We can be moved to experience K**a muta by reunions, art, music, acts of heroism, empathy, love for others and our planet. From beautiful functional ware and contemporary studio pottery to sculptural and decorative pieces, Kiln Ceramic Fair brings together an inspiring range of makers, all under one roof.

The exhibition ‘K**a Muta’ is a creative celebration of those fleeting moments that touch our hearts.

Neither sadness nor joy: this is k**a muta, the indescribable emotion that we all feel at some time in our life

Sometimes there just aren’t words to express the wellspring of emotions you are suddenly moved to feel by some event or experience. It’s probably k**a muta.

Humans have possessed the ability to express themselves through language starting at least 135,000 years ago. However, even with all that time to evolve there are some things for which we just don’t have the exact words.

Feeling K**a Muta literally soothes our body.

‘The party platters depicted came from celebrating the final day of the final project of Gorton Visual Arts- a group I was a volunteer for from 2021 until 2024. Active for 18 years, it was a community arts group based in Gorton, a place close to my heart due to my mum’s side of the family coming from there.’ - Rebecca Davy

Today’s the final day of ‘The Feast’ - the last day to take the show in, to fill your boots and your heart with the richness that art and creativity brings.

It’s the last day to purchase work - both here in the gallery and online: the link is in my bio. And I’m happy to post work to, almost, anywhere in the 🌍

The gallery is also a proud member of the Own Art Scheme - where you can purchase a piece of work and take it home with you: and spread the cost of the art work over ten interest free payments: available on pieces of work priced £250-£5,000. For further info - feel free to DM me 🙌

It’s that time of year where I share the dates for my call for artists entries for the galleries annual SECRET POSTCARD SHOW!

July 14th - August 14th

I can’t actually believe that this is the 10th postcard show - time just passes SO quickly!

Last year’s show was officially AMAZING & it enabled me to pay half of the annual rent on the gallery building, fund 2 artists residencies in 2027 and various other bits and bobs including a truck load of logs to keep the gallery warm through the Winter.

So many of you know that the gallery is supported via the funds raised from the show. The reality of running any art gallery is rarely shared - and unless you own the building it’s becoming increasingly unviable unfortunately.

However there are ways to work collaboratively and still create a viable space.

Without your support via this show the gallery wouldn’t exist!

It’s also a fabulous celebration - a show FULL of excitement. Plus it enables most art lovers to be able to buy art that they love. The donated postcards are sold for £20.

There is a link below with all the info: you do need to check the info if you’re going to submit work..

But the main points are:

Entry Requirements

👉Size: 12cm x 17.5cm - any postcards below/above this size will not be accepted: 1-3 mm’s out is ok. Entries below this will not be entered into the exhibition.

👉On strong paper or mounted on card etc so that the postcards can be stood up without bending during the exhibition: please see photo above.

👉Do not sign the front of the postcard.

👉On the reverse of the postcard: write: your name, signature, title of work (if applicable), medium, plus if you wish - website and email address. Many of the people who buy postcards like to get in contact with the artist,

👉Maximum number of postcards - 8 per artist.
