WE LOVE A COLLABORATION!!

This was an extremely exciting project working with the extremely talented Farmyard Furniture . Ian approached me to make these X steel legs from wild steel, to go under a bespoke waney edge oak top. Two different worlds of wood and metal come together to make a perfect combination.

🦌 New horseshoe stag finished and out in the field today.

Handmade from horseshoes and steel, this piece has been built to capture the strength and character of a stag while keeping the horseshoes visible throughout the sculpture.

I think he's looking quite at home in this setting.

Apologies for the RANT!!!

As a small business owner, I work two jobs and take huge pride in what I do. Every piece I make is handcrafted, taking many hours of work, skill, and money to create.

This week, I completed a wedding commission ahead of schedule and dropped it off with DHL on Tuesday for next-day delivery. It was a short lead time and one I had promised the client I could fulfil.

Wednesday came and went. No delivery.

Thursday came and went. Still no delivery.

Today I visited the Swindon depot looking for answers. I was told the parcel had been scanned, sent to Portsmouth, taken out on a van, brought back, and then never sent out again. Nobody could tell me why. Nobody could contact the depot. Nobody even seemed to know where the sorting office was.

What frustrates me most is that DHL is a huge company with sophisticated tracking systems and technology, yet nobody seemed willing to carry out the simple task of finding out why my parcel hadn't been delivered.
After 8 calls to customer services and speaking only to an automated system, I'm no closer to getting an answer.
When you spend hours making something by hand, putting your heart into it, and then trust a courier to do one job, it's extremely sad and upsetting when things become so disorganised that a parcel appears to be lost in the system with nobody able or willing to help.

The most disappointing part is that it's my customer who is affected, despite me doing everything possible to get the item there on time. Small businesses work incredibly hard to maintain their reputation, and situations like this are stressful and damaging.

Very disappointing service from DHL, and unfortunately I'll be avoiding them in the future.
