🎭 9 to 5 The Musical at Crewe Lyceum
By Curtain Call Productions
📅 16th–19th September
If you're looking for a fun night out at the theatre, this is definitely one to book. They have 3 shows left so be quick
Pr Visit] I honestly didn't know what I was expecting from 9 to 5 The Musical… but it definitely wasn't this! 😂
This show had me going from a huge smile, to full-on belly laughing, to wincing at the sheer cringe of the boss, and then feeling genuinely uplifted and empowered by the story of what women can achieve when they stand up for themselves. ❤️
And then there was THAT scene…
One of the characters had barely said a word up until that point, then suddenly appeared in an incredibly sexy dance routine that had pretty much the whole audience open-mouthed! 😂
It was sexy, hilarious and just brilliant to watch. Definitely one of those moments that completely grabs your attention.
Based on the hit 1980 film starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton, the story is set in the late 1970s and follows three women Violet, Judy and Doralee who are fed up with their sexist and overbearing boss, Franklin Hart.
After being pushed too far, the three women decide to take matters into their own hands, leading to a series of increasingly chaotic plans to turn the tables on their boss.
With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, there's plenty of catchy music, comedy, larger-than-life characters and plenty of moments that had me laughing.
