Coventry Building Society Arena is raising the bar for its premium drinks offer by becoming the first stadium to serve a British rum co-owned by Coventry City favourite Dion Dublin.

52North rum will initially be available across the premium lounges at the Arena, with the range set to be trialled in other areas of the venue during football matches, conferences, exhibitions and other major events.

It forms part of the continued development of the food and drink at the Arena, with a focus on introducing high-quality products which enhance the experience for hospitality guests and visitors.

Coventry Building Society Arena turns 21 on 20 August, bringing our 20th anniversary celebrations to a close 🎉

The venue first opened its doors on 20 August 2005 and has since welcomed some of the biggest names in music, including Harry Styles, Oasis and Bruce Springsteen.

In the last 12 months alone, Ed Sheeran, Take That and Tom Grennan have all performed at the Arena, with Take That’s return to the stadium among the highlights of another landmark year for live entertainment.

More than 100,000 fans attended Take That’s three shows in June, generating an estimated £6.2 million for the local economy and adding another chapter to the Arena’s live music history.

As part of our anniversary celebrations, we caught up with former Marketing Director Liz Cooper to revisit the venue’s early years and the work that went into attracting some of the world’s biggest artists to Coventry.

In this clip, Liz reveals how the Arena quite literally rolled out the red carpet to bring Take That to the stadium for the first time in 2009…
