Excellent news from Colin Squire, organiser of the monthly Folk In The Lounge session at the Denbigh Arms, Monks Kirby

I confirm this month’s session will take place at The Denbigh Arms, Monks Kirby, this coming Sunday 14th June, 8pm-10/10.15pm, a week earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the Monks Kirby Summer Fair on 21st.

We are delighted to have a new landlady, Ava, who is very supportive of the music session, we wish her the best of luck in her new role.

Musicians and audience welcome.

Do you enjoy singing? Fancy exploring new forms of music? This may be just up your street!

On Saturday JUNE 6th, choir leader for Côr Cymraeg Coventry, ANDY JONES hosts a rare opportunity to try out a beautiful form of Welsh music called 'cerdd dant' - basically singing harmonies to melodies played on the harp.

You don't have to speak Welsh. You don't even need to read music. Just show up at the Albany Theatre at 2pm, follow Andy's lead and apply your voice to a whole new musical experience. Harp-playing is provided by the Coventry group HARPOTUNITIES.

Admission to the 2-hour session is £8 - or £5 concessions, including students and pensioners. Pay on arrival or book in advance on: https://www.albanytheatre.co.uk/shows/cvfolk-singing-welsh-songs/
