tep onto Stage Ltd was founded by Kirstie Smith in 2014 and started with 22 students in a church hall. We have now grown so much as a school and have many children/young adults who train with us throughout the week and at weekends in many disciplines at Walsgrave C of E Academy.

y during regular classes and workshops, which are ongoing throughout the academic year. As well as the team of teachers that are part of Step onto Stage Ltd, we also have a close group of people who have been with the company since the beginning and without them Step onto Stage could not run the way it has over the years.

The main ethos at Step onto Stage (SOTS) is to be a safe and family environment, where children and young people can learn and develop their skills. SOTS is well known for its professional standard, attitude and well behaved students within the community as well as the many places we have had the opportunity to perform at, such as: The Abbey Theatre, Leamington Spa Centre, The Hilton hotel, Alton Towers and Birmingham Hippodrome. We were successful in our audition to dance at Disneyland Paris in 2020 but, unfortunately this has now been cancelled and we hope to offer this amazing opportunity to our students as soon as it is safe to. ✨ LEGALLY BLONDE JR. THE MUSICAL! ✨

Auditions and rehearsals will take place as part of our Friday Musical Theatre classes, with all of our Musical Theatre students involved in this fantastic production.

🌟 New students are very welcome to join us and be part of the show!

Our first Legally Blonde Jr. workshop will take place on Friday 11th September, with more information about auditions, rehearsals, and the production coming soon.

What an extraordinary weekend! ✨

Step Onto Stage, I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together with our summer production, Born of the Frontier.

The incredible feedback we’ve received has been overwhelming, and while our performers shone so brightly on stage, this production was only possible because of the phenomenal team behind it.

To our dedicated teaching staff, thank you for your endless creativity, commitment and passion. You go above and beyond every single week, inspiring, nurturing and believing in every student who walks through our doors. The countless hours of rehearsals, planning, choreography and preparation have all led to this incredible moment.

To our amazing chaperones, thank you for caring for our students with such kindness and professionalism throughout the production. Your support behind the scenes is invaluable.

To our outstanding technical team, thank you for working tirelessly to create a spectacular production. From lighting and sound to staging and all the unseen moments that keep a show running seamlessly, your expertise transformed our vision into reality.

To every volunteer, backstage helper and member of our Step Onto Stage family who gave up their time to make this weekend such a success, thank you. It truly takes a village to produce a show of this scale, and I feel incredibly fortunate to work with such an exceptional team.

And finally, to our talented students, you were simply outstanding. Your hard work, resilience, passion and courage filled the stage, and you should all be immensely proud of yourselves.

Thank you to our wonderful audiences for your support and your incredible comments. They mean the world to all of us.

Born of the Frontier will be remembered as one of those truly special productions, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone who made it happen.
