Another look at a headline performance created for Physical Fellowship 2026 by Sprung Advance Plus.

Sykes was an ambitious original work exploring the famous Dickens character using Highly Sprung's distinctive physical theatre style. Made in response to this year’s festival theme United, inviting young performers to examine division, inequality and belonging. Together Sprung Advance Plus considered the question: Can true equality ever exist, or does disparity continue to shape our world?

Devised by the group of 16-19 year olds the piece celebrates bold ideas, ensemble storytelling and young people leading the way.

What does Physical Fellowship look like on stage?
Here's a quick look at Bonds, one of this year's headline performances.
Created through collaboration with students and graduates from as part of the first ever Physical Fellowship National at .

The performance was created across a five day residency with Highly Sprung artists. Bonds explored the experiences of people transported aboard Victorian convict ships bound for Australia. Examining themes of poverty, justice and inequality, the work challenged audiences to consider how circumstance can shape opportunity and determine fate.
