With Coventry’s Creative Industries Strategy now in focus, this feels like a pivotal moment.

Over our career, we’ve had the joy of seeing the city from a different perspective — creating work in unexpected places. One of those moments took us to the rooftop of West Orchards, later inspiring a collaborative piece on the theme of innovation, now

We know what Coventry can do. Behind those strategy numbers are diverse creatives already shaping the city. The city needs to truly back it — because without action, this risks becoming just another document on a shelf.
We’re excited by the potential — but now is the time for delivery, and for innovation in action — as Coventry does best.
So the question isn’t what’s the plan?
It’s what happens next?

There’s something really special about designing fabric with a unique print.

Taking an idea — a drawing, a word, a feeling — and turning it into something you can step into, move through, even wear.

From children’s illustrations reimagined at Reimagine Redditch, to bold, poetic visuals for the BBC’s Contains Strong Language festival… we’ve filled Coventry city centre with colour and created printed textiles for library spaces.

We love how fabric can transform a space — soft, immersive, and always with that playful Vortex signature.

If you’ve got a story to tell, we’d love to help you turn it into something people can walk through and make their own. ✂️✨

Celebrating International Women’s Day with Vortex Creates — a fabulous female-founded company bringing events, spaces, and stories to life for over 17 years.

This photo captures us perfectly — somewhere between event setup and complete mischief, turning foliage into burlesque-style props and proving that creativity thrives when you’re not afraid to have a LOT fun with it.
