In the summer of 2018, seven year old George came along to a Let’s Animate workshop.

Fast forward to now and this 14 year old has been making his own Lego movies at home, has built up 1.22k subscribers on YouTube, and has been nominated for Best Animation (ages 12–19) at the Into Film Awards 2026.

This is exactly why I do what I do. You never
quite know which session, which moment, which little spark is going to inspire someone to carry on their creative journey.

Moments like this are everything. So proud to have played a small part in George’s story.

Student Spotlight

Snail Love 🐌💛

This lovely little film was made by Kieran at our Awesome Animators Club.

There’s something so charming about the snail characters… it’s really giving Aardman vibes. The attention to detail and personality in the movement is just brilliant.

I love seeing ideas like this come to life, such a cracking piece of animation.

This week at Let’s Animate…

Creatures completely took over my studio
From bugs to penguins, foxes to snails, I’ve loved watching every single animator get stuck in and bring their ideas to life

We’ve had some lovely returning faces, which honestly means so much, brilliant Arts Award progress, one to one sessions with some big creative ideas, and one very chaotic pixelation session involving 16 boys and a corridor

There’s something really special about seeing a room full of young people totally in the zone, creating, experimenting and just enjoying the process, and this week had that feeling all the way through.

THIS FRIDAY!

Get ready for a full day of ✂️ CUT-OUT STOP-MOTION MAGIC ✨

Join us at the Let’s Animate studio for a hands-on filmmaking adventure where young creators will:

🎥 Develop their own story
🎨 Design characters & backgrounds
🎬 Animate their scenes
🎧 Add sound effects & bring it all to life

We’ll kick things off with a creative theme to spark imagination, then guide them step-by-step to create their very own mini movie 🎞️

By the end of the day… they’ll have a film to be PROUD of 🙌
