Through pioneering outdoor arts production and engagement programmes, we celebrate our city’s rich diversity. Imagineer is a creative company specialising in cultural events and celebrations whose ambitious work combines imagination, creativity, engineering and spectacle. While it is perhaps best known for its landmark Cultural Olympiad project, Godiva Awakes, the Imagineer team has a long track record in outdoor performance work and celebratory arts with a strong international focus. Imagineer’s mission is to produce new and extraordinary outdoor work; creating beauty and human connections where you least expect them.

POWERHOUSE PLAY 🌈

Powerhouse Play offers open, accessible and playful opportunities for children, young people and families to get involved in creative activity.

Through workshops, events and informal activity, we provide a welcoming entry point into creativity, encouraging exploration, play and participation.

From our National Saturday Club, delivered in partnership with Coventry University for young people aged 13–16, to our recent inclusive aerial hoop sessions with Zoë Taal • Aerial instructor, installation making with Julia Thompson and drop-in circus and aerial workshops with Luka Owen, there are lots of ways to get creative, try something new and explore different art forms.

Powerhouse Play makes space to have fun, explore something new and discover what's possible.

POWERHOUSE PEOPLE 🧡

Creativity can bring people together, open up new possibilities and help ideas grow.

Powerhouse People focuses on community engagement and participation, creating opportunities for people to get involved in creative activity, connect with others and connect with Imagineer’s work.

From Transformations, supporting young people to develop creative skills and explore pathways into the creative industries, to Powerhouse Generator, helping people to develop and share their own ideas through bespoke support packages and micro commissions, there are different ways to take part, build confidence and discover what's possible.

Alongside these programmes, we create different opportunities for communities to come together, share experiences and connect through creativity.

Earlier this year we worked with schools, youth clubs and community groups across Coventry to create beautiful lanterns that were floated on the canal in Coventry Canal Basin as part of our Where We Belong event. We also welcomed in lots of our incredible community to our drop-in at Daimler Powerhouse to make giant lanterns with us! 👷‍♀️🏫🕯✨️

POWERHOUSE PRO 🎪

Being a creative professional means there is always more to explore, learn and discover.

Powerhouse Pro supports artists, creatives, performers and industry professionals to develop their practice, build networks, expand knowledge and explore new opportunities.

Through workshops, masterclasses, in conversations, intensives, residencies and research and development opportunities, we create space to experiment, exchange ideas, share skills and develop work.

From practical training to time and space to explore an idea, Powerhouse Pro is about supporting creative practitioners to strengthen their practice and connect with others across the sector.

From large-scale outdoor spectacles to intimate sharings and creative events, this is where ambitious ideas come to life.

We create and present work that brings people together, transforms spaces and invites audiences to experience something unexpected.

Working with local, national and international artists, we bring bold ideas to life while creating opportunities for people to gain experience, develop skills and be part of making and delivering ambitious creative work.

Through our productions, people can get involved in different ways — from creating and presenting new work to gaining practical experience in the production and delivery of festivals and events.

Whether out in the city, in public spaces or at Daimler Powerhouse, our productions create opportunities to connect, create and experience the extraordinary together.

We’ve had quite a few new faces around here recently, so we thought it was about time we re-introduced ourselves.

👋We’re Imagineer, an outdoor arts charity based at Daimler Powerhouse in Coventry.

We create joyful outdoor arts productions, impactful participatory programmes and opportunities for creative development.

We work with artists, young people and communities to create ambitious work, inspire creativity and make the extraordinary accessible — creating meaningful opportunities for people to take part, develop and grow.

At the heart of what we do is a belief in the power of creativity to connect people, transform lives and strengthen communities.

And there are lots of ways to find your place at Imagineer — whether you want to experience something new, take part in a workshop, develop your creative practice, bring your community together, collaborate with us or simply find out what’s going on.

Over the next few posts, we’re going to introduce you to the different parts of Imagineer, the people behind it and some of the things we get up to.

What a day! Thank you! 💛

Thank you to everyone who came into Broadgate on Saturday - to the audiences who stopped to watch, the families who got stuck in, the people who picked up the phone, voted with a rubber chicken, added to the walls, shared their thoughts, chatted with Andrea, made something, played along or simply stopped to see what was happening.

Thank you to all of the artists and companies who brought their work to Coventry, and to the communities, volunteers, partners and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the day happen.

And a HUGE thank you, Coventry, for showing us what happens when you give a city a space to play.

We were incredibly proud to see Broadgate full of people, creativity, conversation and ideas. There was a real sense of people making the day their own, and that’s something we want to carry forward!

But this isn’t the end of Streets of Cov 2026... It’s the beginning of Streets of Cov 2027... 🌈

We asked you what you want to see, where you want it to happen, how you want to experience it and what you think Streets of Cov could become.

We're listening!

We’re bringing together everything you shared with us on Saturday - the votes, messages, drawings, conversations, ideas and feedback - and we’ll be looking at it all now as we start to shape the next festival.

We’ll share what we’re hearing, what we’re learning and where those ideas take us as we work towards Streets of Cov 2027.

So… tomorrow then. 👀

If you’re heading into Coventry tomorrow, keep an eye out for us in Broadgate.

There’ll be a Ford Orion doing things Ford Orions probably shouldn’t do, a flying machine, circus, dance, giant drawings, rubber chickens, a poet, a whole load of things to get involved with — and plenty of reasons to stop for a while.

It’s Streets of Cov!
