Heading to see the surgeon today and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the game-changers in my life. My GP's persistence and the surgeon's expertise have given me and us a second chance. I'm still searching for the right words to express my thanks…

6 weeks post-op 🎉
My legs are officially the same length! 🙌
Tried to capture the moment… Eldest gave it a go, Little Man couldn’t keep the camera straight, and of course our new family member had to photobomb 🐾😂 But hey, we tried – and that’s what counts! 💪❤️

Tea, cake & tiny victories ✨
Today I walked down to the local Country Market on my crutches! It might not seem far, but every step is building my stamina and helping me get stronger 💪. Recovery is made sweeter when it involves cake, right? 🫶💙

What’s your favourite little pick-me-up on a tough day?

5 weeks post-op today 💙

And honestly… I don’t think I’d have made it this far without you lot.

To the friends who’ve texted, called, written silly messages online, or dropped by just to say hi, thank you. 💌

To those who’ve brought me lunch, coffee (or multiple coffees ☕🙌), flowers, treats, things to entertain me and spoil me, you’ve kept me smiling on tough days. 🌸

To the ones who’ve looked after the boys, taken them to parties, and just been there for them when I couldn’t, I’m forever grateful. 💙

To my family who’ve stepped in and helped us all in a hundred different ways, thank you doesn’t quite cover it. 💕

And finally, to this whole community who’ve supported me, Phil and the boys while I recover from surgery, you’ve shown me what true kindness looks like. 🫶

I’m 5 weeks into this journey, and while I’ve got a long way to go, I feel incredibly lucky not to be doing it alone.

From the bottom of my (new!) hip, THANK YOU. 💙✨

Small victories feel like the biggest milestones right now 💙

This week I made it out of the house not once, but twice 🙌
✨ To celebrate my aunty’s 60th 🎉
✨ For a coffee with my lovely mom ☕

It wasn’t easy. I had to lie down in the car to get there, sitting comfortably in public is still a challenge, and by the time I got home I crashed, sleeping the whole way back and most of the afternoon too.

But you know what? It was so worth it.
Being around people again felt strange at first, but also so special. Friendly faces, kind words, little gestures of help, it reminded me how much good there is around me.

I only managed to take 2 photos, but they mean so much. Proof that I’m getting out there, step by step, and that recovery isn’t just about physio moves, it’s also about living life again. 💙

Here’s to more moments like this… even if they come with a nap or two! 😅

💄✨ Get Ready With Me: recovery edition!

My current routine is quick + simple:
▫️ Tinted primer ➡️ concealer ➡️ foundation with a bit of glow
▫️ Lashes & brows were tinted/permed pre-op (best decision ever 🙌) so it’s just mascara + brow brush now
▫️ Slicked back hair (thank you fashion gods for making lazy chic a thing 🙏)
▫️ And my favourite step: statement jewellery ✨ because nothing says ‘I’ve got this’ like a pair of bold earrings.

Truth is, after having my first son, I felt like I lost myself a bit, living in mum-uniforms and forgetting about feeling polished. By the time I had my second, I’d discovered who taught me small tweaks that make a BIG difference.

Now even in joggers + a baggy tee, I feel more put together 💙. It’s not about looking perfect, it’s about feeling like you again — even when life (or recovery) feels messy.”

👉 Who else has a go-to step that instantly makes you feel put together?

6-8 weeks of restrictions. The constant reminder: no twisting, no bending past 90°.
This isn’t just recovery – it’s a full-time job to keep my new hip safe. Why? Because a hip replacement is a major op, also I had a more complex issue and I’m at higher risk of dislocation thanks to hypermobile knees.
But every small step counts. Every careful move matters. And every ice pack? Totally worth it.
Future me will thank me for sticking to the plan. 💪
Would you manage these rules? Or what’s the hardest restriction you’ve had to follow?
