We've all been there. Hanging on the phone for a reply to a message sent days ago. Here Thomas Atlas pours heartbreak into his Strat in a tender solo for our Sofar Sounds show earlier this year in his as yet unreleased composition 'Messages'. This week's Artist Spotlight features fab singer and ace songwriter Joe Doonan from Leeds who opened our show at The Priory Undercroft LTB Showrooms in May. Joe's touring with his band later this year so stay tuned for tour date announcements. Meanwhile our next Sofar Sounds Coventry gig is scheduled for 17 September. Details here

Last Thurday at 1 Mill Street we were blessed with the Christian neo-soul sound of Kaye-Marie closely accompanied by Nathanuel O'Connor on drums, Josh Livingston on Bass and Daniel Simmonds on piano. We'll have more Sofar Sounds treats in store at our next show in Coventry on 17 September.

Another fabulous night of Sofar Sounds music and friendship on International Friendship day.

Our first thanks to 1 Mill Street and their wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome.

First up Lucy May Walker originally from Redditch who has made a home in Folkstone via London. Lucy is a gifted singer songwriter able to make us laugh or cry from song to song with Men Don’t Cry a very special moment.

Next up Manchester’s Joel Gardner. With his advanced guitar techniques Joel had us jumping and clapping along with a highly energetic set of powerful and uplifting songs. So much energy!

Studying at Warwick University for her medical degree Kaye-Marie and her amazing band closed out the show with her sophistcated neo-soul gospel sound that had us bobbing swaying and finger-snapping along.

Finally the biggest thanks to our wonderful guests for showing up supporting the very best in live music and making Sofar Sounds the unique experience it is.

For our next show we return to Coventry. Stay tuned for more performance clips and Artist Spotlight from this show.
