Finally got to sit and have a lengthy chat with my Idol for the first time in 24 years. My family and I have been his fan since the year 2001. In my old neighbourhood, everyone knew me as an Idibia acolyte, in fact, if there were confusing lines in his songs then, I was the one people consulted to get the lines right. My room was full of magazines and newspapers that had 2face in them. I bought, not only his CDs but that of other artists that featured him. In 2018, I rounded off my Master's degree in English with a thesis on the music of 2face Idibia and I'm happy that at the Afro Halloween Party in Cardiff last night, I was able to share the work with him and also let him know the progress of what I'm doing about it.

After 5 years of waiting, of grit, tears, sweat, writing and rewriting, I am finally relieved to share that my second book of poems, How We Became Heroes is coming out soon from the stables of Noirledge Publishing the West African Edition. The North American/European Edition would be announced soon. It feels good to see this day, it seemed like it'd never come. Thanks to Servio Gbadamosi and his team for believing in this work and taking it as theirs. Thanks to me, for swimming against the tides to see to the finalisation of this beautiful work. If you loved How Morning Remembers the Night, then this one is about to toggle at your heart. The nationwide release date will be announced shortly.
