This popped up as a memory of today. I have this Angel kit and pdfs and Tyne river bridge kits ready to post out in time for Christmas! Check out my shop!

I made this design from my own photo before we bought a house close to the Angel. So it does mean quite a lot to me.

I never showed you my "craft supplies wall" even though it's nowhere near all of it.

When we moved in, we immediately sorted out the little bedroom, into a craft/office/ spare bedroom. And painted it this soothing green. Around the room are some pink accents so I had to get the skadis pegboard in pink.

It makes me happy to look at it, and I now know where some key crafting tools are.....

I almost finished it last night, but I didn't want to rush the grand finale - a few stitches this morning and voila!

It's a cute little kit. Now I just have to figure out where to show it off!

A little "me-time" with a mini crossstitch kit a friend for me for my birthday.

I've been feeling the need to be creative recently, I think it's the changing colours of autumn spurring me on. And this is a nice little project to work on!!

Today is Hangul Day. The day commemorating the creation of the Korean alphabet.

Created by King Sejong in 1446 to increase literaxy by complementing Chinese characters used for literary writing and multiple local phonetic alphabets.

There are 10 basic vowels and 14 basic consonants but there are 27 complex letters that are created by combining multiple basic letters. So when I was learning it, I considered the alphabet as being 41 letters.

It is written in syllabic blocks. Each usually contains 2 or 3 letters written either vertically or "horizonatally" depending on the vowel shape. So the syllable man consists of ㅁ, ㅏ and ㄴ, ㅏ is a vertical vowel so it's written 만 (the vowel next to the first consonant). The syllable 'moon' consists of ㅁ, ㅜ and ㄴ. ㅜ is a horizontal vowel so it's written 문 with the letters stacked below each other.

King Sejong's statue in Seoul is in the second and third photos. It was placed it 2009, after I first moved to Korea, so the first time that I saw it most have been soon after it was unveiled. Who knew?

This is how it looked post dandelion-and-burdock. I had to wash off the pattern and the sticky syrup.

Then once it was dry, I reprinted and added the pattern again as best as I could.

I may have predicted a little.....
