Well hello, stranger! 👋🏼✨

I haven’t been around on here much lately… and honestly, taking a little break from social media has been really good for me. ❤️

A *lot* has happened over the last year and, as some of you already know, it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster 🎢 — and it’s not quite over yet!

But… life goes on, doesn’t it? And I’m looking forward to getting back into the studio and thinking about all the lovely pottery adventures coming up this September! 🏺✨

Classes start **next week** and I still have a few spaces available:

🪴 **Tuesday mornings** — 10am–12.30pm
🪴 **Tuesday evenings** — 6.30pm–9pm
🪴 **Wednesday mornings** — 10am–12.30pm
🪴 **Wednesday evenings** — 6.30pm–9pm

And don’t worry if life gets in the way and you can’t make every single class — I try to keep things as flexible as possible. You can make up missed sessions by joining another class during the term, or use the studio for some independent making time. Because, well… *life happens!* 😊

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has somehow found me, booked a class and trusted me with their pottery time — I’m so grateful. 🥰

And to my wonderful, loyal regular students who have stuck with me through all the ups and downs of the past year… **you are truly awesome.** I value your perseverance, your support and, most of all, your company more than I can say. ❤️

If you fancy joining me for some clay, creativity and a bit of therapeutic pottering, you can book online at **janescottceramics.com** or just get in touch with me directly. We can have a chat about what you’re looking for and what might work for you.

You’re also very welcome to pop into the studio, meet me and have a little nosey around before committing to anything — come and see what you’re letting yourself into! 😂

Here’s to September, new pots, muddy hands and plenty of pottery adventures. 🏺🤎

**See you soon in the studio!** ✨

Hi everyone ❤️

Thank you for your patience with me. I’ve been very quiet on here lately, and with good reason.

Sadly, my darling sister passed away earlier this year. 💔 It has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to face. A week later, my beautiful daughter Tilley from got married 👰✨ and then, a week after that, we said our final goodbye to my sister. 🕊️

To say I’ve been emotionally all over the place is an understatement.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to my wonderful students for your kindness, patience and understanding while I’ve been finding my feet again. 🌷 Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know.

A huge thank you also to the two amazing tutors who stepped in to help keep everything running while I took some time to navigate these difficult months. ❤️ I couldn’t have done it without you.

Through it all, I’ve been reminded what a special community we have, and how lucky I am to be part of it. 🥰

With that in mind, bookings are now open for my September pottery classes! 🎨🏺

🗓 Tuesday classes begin 1st September
🗓 Wednesday classes begin 2nd September

The first block is an 8-week half term and costs £280. Or book the full term through to 15th December and you will receive one class completely free. ✨

Thank you all for your continued support. I can’t wait to get back into the studio and create with you again. 💕

With love,
Jane 🩷

Pottery. Food. Slow Sundays. ✨

Pottery Brunch Club is back… and this one is going to be *special* 🤍

🗓 Sunday 17th May 2026
⏰ 10:30am — ~3pm

We’ll begin in the studio, hands in clay, creating your own candle holder using flat slabs, then bringing it to life with beautiful coloured slips 🎨
I’ll glaze and fire it for you, ready to collect a couple of weeks later (aka a little piece of your Sunday to keep forever).

Then… we wander a few steps into the kitchen 🍃
A long table, a relaxed atmosphere, and the most delicious vegetarian feast cooked by the incredible Beth (). Vegan? Dietary needs? She’s got you covered.

This is your invitation to slow down, make something meaningful, eat something wonderful, and spend a day that feels *really good*.

We’ve been hosting these together for years and they just keep getting more magical ✨

When life gives you a badly fitting glaze with CRACKLING crackier than crackled take full advantage - try painting a solution of cobalt oxide (other oxides will do other things…) over the pot so it sinks into the cracks and re fire it - preserving the crackle pattern forever!

I have never made an eggcup before! Fiddly little things. Not my thing.

The first thing I did when I arrived here was smash a rather horrid eggcup I had - phew I thought, it’s the universe telling me what to get stuck into while I’m here…

So there I am throwing this groggy coarse clay off a hump, which was rather cool actually and getting quite into the shape, size, design, weight, balance etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the process and like my eggcups very much indeed.

That groggy clay was all slubby and mushy to work with, I really like how these little beauties have retained that quality. Very pleasing.

A massive eggcup upgrade.

And the copper oxide just showing off like that, pooling and cascading in all its wonderful varying tones from metallic black where it is really thick all the way through to the minty greens glowing and semi translucent reacting with the glaze…

My therapist suggested I should make a shrine to honour my much younger self…
I didn’t know what on earth to make and just sort of intuitively started on something - this is what emerged…
I’m pondering it somewhat. It interests me.
Has anyone else done anything like this?? I’m curious. ❤️

Finished shrine.
I seem to be making a lot of these. I must have a lot to be grateful about.
I’m so happy with how this has turned out. It’s exactly what I was hoping for. Those vitreous slip washes are just right.
What to put in here though…?
