Coolham Live Music Club

Coolham Live Music Club Top class gigs an intimate venue I have made a big effort to bring some of the finest musicians from around the globe to Coolham.

All these gigs are non profit making and hopefully will help keep live music alive. You'll not find another venue like Coolham to see world class musicians, it's like having a gig in your front room. Come and have a great night out with awesome music . My thanks the great audiences and to the finest musicians from all over the world for coming to a little hall in a small West Sussex village. See you at a gig soon - Graeme :)

The audience
Here are a few pics of our audience
– this I think is what it’s all about, isn’t it? I may be of a certain age but I love to listen to to the artist – not some young drunk in a pub who is shouting over the band – especially when it’s a ballad. I love the posh glasses you bring along to make it a special occasion, and for some of you that bring an absolute feast. So thank you to you all for being a wonderful audience and we’ve all become friends as we've gone along. Thanks to you all for helping us to put the chairs and tables away in the hall
AND most of all, making the very generous donations to our charities - K9 Angels from the Stables - photo included - and The Chestnut Tree House from the hall.

See you next time in the hall

Here are a few pics of Amba Tremain and Band at the last lunchtime event of this season at GT’s Stables.
We all had such a great time didn’t we – fully sold out as usual. Wasn’t it wonderful to be part of their development too, and the improvements they have made on their journey – particularly Ben Corner developing his backing vocals. That’s a real honour in MHO.
Look forward to seeing Amba and band next time.

This is a photo from Sunday, courtesy of Carole Leonard, that shows a band that know they have just delivered an incredible performance. Just had to share it here.

Sunday saw the last of our gigs at the Stables for 2026, which was once again sold out with around 100 audience members enjoying a top class afternoon of live music with two very different but equally talented acts.

To open the afternoon, we welcomed back Neil Grove, the young horse whisperer, blues singer, guitarist. Neil is a knowledgable lover of the fusion of blues and jazz music that led to the rock and roll era in the 1950’s. He never fails to impress audiences with his guitar virtuosity and vocal delivery plus his dead pan interaction with them and we were treated to 60 mins of classic blues, jump jive and early rock and roll that left the audience wanting more.

After the break Coolham favourite, Amba Tremain, took to the stage with her excellent band and delivered 90 mins of almost entirely original material that was both superbly written arranged and varied in style from ballads to old school soul into full on rock. Amba and the band were certainly up for this gig and they pulled out all the stops, demonstrating why they deserve, and appear to be garnering, wider recognition.

As always, the sound was spot on thanks to the usual crew, Ian, Mark and Benny. The collection this time was for K9 Angels, the animal welfare charity that Graeme’s wife, Toni, helps fundraise for and this time raised a further £300 that brings the total raised at this year’s Stable gigs to over £820. Thanks to our ever generous audience members.

With the weather set fair for the weekend, we can confirm that the gig on Sunday afternoon (19th) with Amba Tremain and Neil Grove will definitely be going ahead at the Stables, which means we have a limited number of additional places that we will allocate on a first come-first served basis. Contact Rich at coolhamtickets@gmail if you would like to join us.

Sadly another example of this worrying trend.

Sadly another example of this worrying trend.

This was a horrible thing to have to do, but sadly Black Star Riders have had to pull out of our European tour this coming autumn. I hope it goes without saying that this is something no band ever wants to do, and wasn’t a decision that we made lightly.

As we all know, the cost of getting a tour like this on the road is incredibly high, and sadly there simply hasn’t been the advance ticket sales to make it viable without risking a huge amount, financially. We really hate to let anyone down, but to wait and see would’ve meant more people coming may be out of pocket for flights and hotels, and so we all felt it was the fairest thing to do to make the call now.

We hope to see you all soon, and truly appreciate everyone’s understanding.

We had a fabulous time on Sunday afternoon at my Courtyard, listening to some brilliant music with the superb Oli MacDonald and his band with some special guests over from the states, including Boo Mitchell on keys, a 2 time Grammy winner, that he brought with him to Sussex to play for us, in perfect weather. Thanks to everyone that came along and see this great show that Oli and friends played for us, they all loved playing to an appreciative listening audience we have at Coolham. Every one of the band was delightful to deal with and a pleasure to look after. We raised an amazing £521.87 for K9 Angels dog charity that they are so grateful for, so thank you for your generosity and thank you to Mark, Ian and Benny for the great sound as always. A few words in the pictures from Oli and Brent on how much they enjoyed playing to you all. G x

A great interview with a Coolham Live Music Club fave, Keith Xander, frontman of the amazing Xander and the Peace Pirates. Booked again for later this years so keep a look out for the event here.

We were members when I was a child and attended events. I even played guitar at a couple. Back then Jeremy Beadle was a Patron of Reach, he was mocking my mum and said, “Oh no, not a proud mum!” 🤣 I then played to a backing track on a crappy keyboard and played lead guitar over the top, I was...
