Conwy Classical Music Festival is delighted that Joe Cooper, Director of University Music at Bangor, has agreed to lead a choral workshop at this year's festival. The event will take place at St Mary's Church, Conwy, on Saturday, July 25th, commencing at 10am and concluding with a performance of the works studied at approximately 2.45pm.
The choice of music by Mendelssohn and Elgar for the workshop ties in with Conwy's celebration of the 200th anniversary of Thomas Telford's iconic suspension bridge, for both composers visited Conwy and crossed Telford's bridge. The Mendelssohn piece that has ben selected is his setting of Psalm 43: 'Richte mich, Gott', and Elgar is represented by four unaccompanied part-songs: Serenade, Love's Tempest, The Fountain and The Shower.
