Update: (edited)

Have a second wave of infection, got the covid non stop cough throughout the night for 8 hours and still going& now have a deflated lung, so today having a high risk but necessary procedure (not op) to try repair the lung damage. They have to insert a tube. Having another ct scan as they need to know exact position for the procedure.

My other lung has a blood clot that is been treated since my arrival.

Now back at the intensive care unit.

Progress Report:

Sorry this is a bit of a negative n***y post but im saying this so anyone apprehensive of the vaccine is aware of the alternative from my perspective.

Everything was going as well as it could on the critcal care covid ward, bar the odd blip. I even spoke to a few friends who couldn't believe my improvement.

Then late Thursday i moved to my own room on a normal covid ward and this is where things went rapidly downhill.

Covid sent it's little ninja terrorists in to give my body a right beating.

I had the worst 36 hours of my life with no sleep at all in 48hours

Chronic fatigue of another level, extreme shortness of breath & coughing.

On top of this, an older nurse helper error of not checking things properly, gave me 90 minutes of severe pain, even with drugs.

But, I've held on.

Breathing is a bit more controllable but i still have severe chronic fatigue & the covid cough.

Just to give one example of the fatigue, moving two steps from the chair to the bed left me out of breath & knackered for over 90mins. That's how bad the fatigue is.

I don't want sympathy, positivity only as i will win this war eventually.

Im only writing this because anyone apprehensive about the vaccine, you need to know what could be your alternative.

Everyone who is apprehensive has their story. I'm not preaching, just letting you know of my experiences.

It's a game of Russian Roulette. You take the vaccine or take your chances with covid.

On the Critical Care Ward, none of us had the jab. I hadn't had it because Mrs J was super apprehensive, so was waiting for her to be ready. She now beats herself up every night since i come in hospital despite my reassurances.

On the covid ward, many are senior citizens who have had two jabs and all those who have returned home since my arrival - had both jabs.

Last night i managed 4hrs sleep then the covid cough kept me "active".

I feel ive made a little progress. Im still eating and drinking well and still on low oxygen help.

That's my story since late Thursday - remember no sympathy, positive vibes only as i be victorious in the end.

Progress Update:

Wasn't going to post today but because of all your absolute outstanding support & amazing messages .... thought you all should be the first to know .....

My oxygen level help was at 100% for the first three days on heavy duty masks - today im now on the 4th lowest level mask and only require 40% oxygen help!! This is amazing. I had no idea it had been reduced from 80%.

40% is 19% short of perfect. (21%)

The Doctor & Consultant are both very happy with my progress - consultant has recommended I come off the critical care ward - which will happen when a bed becomes free on the lower level ward, which apparently is busy.

But the fact she has instructed that is good enough for me.

Covid is going down!!

On another note, all the hospital staff have been absolutely faultless.

Their dedication & general "anything we can do to help" attitude is unbelievable. Nothing is an inconvenience. They do everything to make things as comfortable as possible. If i wasn't unwell, id think i was on a luxury airline!!

They all say my attitude has been a big key, but the fact is - i simply could not have done this without them.

Anyone who works in our hospitals in any capacity, i salute you all.

Thank you all for taking up that role.

You are an absolute credit to the country!!

Progress Report:

Short version, covid is getting a kicking! Might be in slow motion like an old kung--fu movie - but im winning. And will win the war.

Not posted because every day is just the same. Bed. Eat. Drink. Sit in chair to change posture. Bed. All essential stuff tho.

My lungs still need help but yesterday was first day that the heavy duty breathing mask was not required 😎

Again thankyou ALL for sending such positive & wonderful messages, you truly are amazing.

PATIENT UPDATE:

Please, No need to reply, you have all been absolutely wonderful. I've been catching up.

It's a slow race but im a stubborn old git and going to kick this covid's sorry little ass. He had his chance. And failed.

The NHS team have been fabulous!!!

Still on heavy duty breathing but it's all heading in the right direction. Feeling as fine as i can but i am in the best place to beat this.

And i will win!!!!

If you have any apprehension about the vaccine, trust me - you'd rather have that than this alternative.

I am (was) very fit, active and strong - & it got me got me good. But, now it's my turn.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all for taking the time to leave such wonderful messages.

They meant a lot ♥️♥️♥️

On another mini bus man's mini break with Mrs Junior with cabaret shows from the East Coast, Scarborough, to the West Coast, Blackpool .... loving the weather and the sightseeing, wishing our boy was on tour with us 🥰

Tomorrow, cabaret show at a Holiday Park we organised & managed entertainment for 20 years ago, Thornwick Bay and then on Wednesday, back to The Riverside for another show.

Massive thanks to my good ol Australian matey Jeffery for working on my show background with me. We smashed it!

Hi All,

sorry for not posting anything on this page for the last 12 days.

Those who have liked this page for some time will know i often posted about our boy Harry, the Dobermann.

Harry had to be rushed to emergency vet on 2nd July and required yet another emergency operation, but due to 'complications' - we sadly had to let him go mid-op.

He was a right character who bought so much joy to our lives and who will be greatly missed ♥️
