Modulate resident and founder Etchasketch will be bringing his modular rig to Modulate this Friday, We asked him some quick questions....
WHAT PIECE OF GEAR OR SOFTWARE HAVE YOU BEEN ENJOYING USING RECENTLY?
The Endorphin.es Ghost. I've been running the FMco drones through it, clocked to the rest of the rack. It's become as much a part of the instrument as the oscillators.
HAVE YOU DISCOVERED ANY MUSIC RECENTLY THAT'S HAD AN IMPACT ON YOU?
KMRU's been on heavy rotation ahead of Le Guess Who next month.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOUR SET ON FRIDAY?
Slow and heavy. I've dropped the tempo right down to 67 BPM, which leaves loads of room in the drum patterns. Deep FM drones underneath, and melodic lines from the Atlantix driven by a random-ish sequencer, so it never plays the same way twice.
You can catch Etchasketch and others from 7pm @ Ink. in Colwyn Bay this Friday the 23rd.
