On World Theatre Day, here’s a few of our memories of our world of theatre 🎭 ❤️

CHARITY SINGLE RELEASED TODAY!
Back last summer, we were approached by Gareth Davies to see if our Shepperton youth group would be interested in getting involved with a charity single project he was working on with local artist Sally Kemp. (We had met Gareth previously when he interviewed our Artistic Director Steve for the Sheppertonian podcast).
Sally had been listening to a spokesman for a children’s charity being interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme. The presenter asked him what message he would send to people when they see the terrible images and film footage of hungry and suffering children around the world. He replied “Don’t Look Away”.
Those words stuck in Sally’s head. It is always so easy to do just that; look the other way and get on with our comfortable lives…after all, we all think we’ve got enough problems of our own, don’t we?
Soon afterwards she wrote the song, “Don’t Look Away” and recorded it at her home studio. Gareth has been involved in the final production, including adding the voices and enthusiasm of CYT members to the project.
The final product was officially released this morning and we are all immensely proud of the end result (beware it is quite emotive)!

All proceeds will go to the Save the Children charity, so we hope you will support Sally, CYT and most importantly the charity by buying the song and spreading the word to enable us to do our small bit to help children around the world.

And that’s a wrap!
Here’s some of the cast and crew of The Sword in the Stone having a well earned drink and dinner after a long week of panto!
The hall is back to being empty, the audiences have all gone home, singing songs from the show, having laughed their bellies off!

Thank you to everyone that made the show a great success. To the cast, crew and especially to those of you who came to see us. Without your support, we couldn’t put on these wonderful shows!
