I’m not in the next plays but I went along to the rehearsal to “Priceless” last night and even with five weeks to go it’s looking fantastic. I found myself laughing out loud a lot!!!

Paul & Kate are playing Tom & Anna a married couple who live with Tom’s mother in a house that’s been in the family for generations

Jay plays Linda who is a visitor to their house

We are ready to promote our next production

“The Art of Deception”

We are performing two plays ��"Rude Awakenings" by Nicholas Ridley, prize-winning author & Pushcart Prize nominee: �We kick off with a beautifully crafted comedy-drama. Set during a village art exhibition, the event completely unravels through mishaps, misunderstandings and deeply buried secrets shared among four very different women. ��"Priceless" by award-winning playwright, Mary Portalska: �After the interval, the fun continues with a razor-sharp, laugh-out-loud comedy. Set in a crumbling stately home desperate for repair funds, the story follows a chaotic scheme involving a collection of highly eccentric characters, a priceless Ming vase and a rather unpredictable supernatural guest.��The show is perfect for adults and teenagers alike, making it a wonderful night out for the whole family. This is us fundraising at Colne Engaine Festival, we each made cakes and then sold them with tea and coffee at this brilliant bi annual event.

We are a group that enjoys teamwork so if that’s something that appeals to you come along to Colne Engaine Village Hall on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm

We have plenty of opportunities for acting big or small, making or collecting props, making and painting scenery, finding scripts, changing scenery, promoting, prompting, operating lights and sounds, welcoming at front of house, helping on the bar, costume finding & making, stand in readers, directors, producers the lists goes on

We have great fun together socially & working on a production so if you’d like to get involved and see what we are about then feel free to drop in, you’ll be made most welcome 🎭

The set is coming together, we are working on it this bank holiday weekend, the costumes are all made on the rail ready to wheel into the green room, the lines are learnt 🎭

Our next production, which opens in less than five weeks’ time — the comedy whodunnit, Murder in Play by Simon Brett.

Preparations are already underway:
• Plans for the set are taking shape
• Props are being assembled
• Lines are being learned
• Entrances and exits are being carefully rehearsed

By opening night everything will be perfectly in place. The curtain will rise and the mystery will begin. But in a comedy whodunnit… things don’t always go quite to plan, do they!

YES — what could possibly go wrong? 😬
