This Bank holiday is going to be a big one at Roots and Grooves.

We have put together some of the greatest track selectas Colchester has ever seen.

We have the likes of DJs from the Deepr crew, Divas in the House and Secret Island Festival for Saturday and on the Sunday Funday, we have selected DJs from your favourite DJs list of favourite DJs, the likes of Poundshoppers, New to the Game, Strictly Vynil Collective and DEEP STREET.

This Bank holiday we have decided to donate all proceeds from the door sales to a charity called KORBAN, now we understand Roots usually doesn’t have a door price but with this lineup and a full-day pass for Friday OR Saturday for Just £3!

Korban is a charity dedicated to helping young homeless individuals break the seemingly never-ending cycles of worry, and distress due to not knowing where the next meal could come or where they will stay tonight. Over the last 14 years, since Korban began in 2008, they have helped nearly 140 young people aged 16-25 who are homeless and will continue to do so with their help.

We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces and moving feet on the sunny bank holiday weekend.

August 3rd. We’re at it again. Serious selectors in the house on this one. Influential heads blending with the new school paving the way.

We’d suggest bringing something to take notes because we’re expecting another masterclass from artists on the bill.

Ex Prodigy don coming through to show us what’s what. There from the start of the breakbeat movement. Let’s go.

Cyberdog stepping in again the local legend that is Joined by & the young gun who’s currently making waves in the scene.

Talking of waves the first lot of tickets just went live but there’s only a handful. 150 tickets on that top floor so please only grab one if you’re up for climbing a couple flights and having a blinder of a night.

Jerome Hill is not just a skilled mixer; he’s a pioneer in integrating scratching and turntablism into techno and rave, complementing his diverse sets in hip hop, funk, and soul.

His primary focus is always on creating the perfect atmosphere and vibe, ensuring a captivating and shared experience for all attendees.

As the innovator of ‘wonky techno’, Hill continues to shape the genre, performing alongside contemporary and legendary artists like Forest Drive West, Randomer, PrivacGalaxian, Regis, Juan Atkins, and Ben Sims.

Known for his down-to-earth attitude and exceptional skill, he balances the technical with the entertaining, whether on Trailer TV, at a booming session at FOLD, or collaborating with Manni Dee on Rinse FM.
