Wivenhoe Orchestra Wivenhoe Orchestra rehearses fortnightly at St Mary's Church in Wivenhoe. Now
though, we are very pleased to be back in St. Mary’s, where it all started.

For some years those of us who play in Carols on the Quay every December
had wanted to meet on a more regular basis, and in January 2017 Wivenhoe
Orchestra was founded. We rehearsed in the Library for the first few years,
and then in lockdown were welcomed by the Congregational Church to use
their hall; it proved a haven when we had spent so much time apart. We rehearse fortnightly on Mondays from

7.00 till 9.00 and are always on the
look-out for new musicians, especially brass and string players, with good
sight-reading skills and a love of orchestral music. Do please get in touch if

Melinda and James Greenfield are a professional violin and cello duo, playing a mix of traditional, non-traditional, and modern Christmas classics Saturday night at St Peter's Church, North Hill, Colchester. They are amazing musicians so definitely worth hearing, and proceeds are in aid of restoring the church roof.
