I’m excited to share a selection of small works that I’ll be exhibiting at S O L A C E, alongside the talented Anna F Macdonald and Sofia Sullivan

Together, we explore three interconnected pathways to solace: through nature, through connection, and through simplicity. This exhibition acknowledges that solace is not merely the absence of difficulty; rather, it encompasses the moments of comfort, beauty, and meaning that guide us through life’s uncertainties. It invites you to slow down, reflect, and consider where you find refuge, restoration, and hope.

In my contemporary landscape paintings, I draw inspiration from serene walks on Hampstead Heath and the golden hour’s transformative light. This fleeting moment, when warm tones of gold, amber, and soft rose blur the boundaries between sky, land, and water, captivates me.

I focus on how light alters the atmosphere, where forms dissolve under its intensity, creating a unity that feels both expansive and intimate. Through careful layering of fine glazes, I capture the profound impact of weather on colour, inviting viewers to engage deeply with each scene.

Ultimately, my work embodies a sense of stillness amid life’s transitions, evoking emotion and wonder. Each painting reflects a moment suspended in warmth and clarity, encouraging appreciation for the beauty around us.
