SHIRE EXTRA is a sister channel of SHIRE RADIO, with the intention of enriching your life by celebrating the music, art and culture of Scotland and beyond – but mainly that of Lanarkshire because we’re proud of what we have. It’s also for people who love theatre, film, comedy, books, poetry, storytelling and art in its many forms, especially new and emerging performers, writers, exhibitions, shows

and more. We even cater for those who have an appreciation of ethnic or multicultural art and music. SHIRE EXTRA is focused on championing music from Lanarkshire, Scotland and elsewhere around the world. We play many styles and genres, with an emphasis on singer-songwriters during daytimes, plus new music, niche preferences, ethnic music styles and music for eclectic tastes at nights and weekends. We also focus on the many other performance and art forms made by creators across the county and around the world.
