🎭 What a fantastic enrolment night! 🎭

A huge thank you to everyone who came along last night to find out more about Made in Dagenham!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome a record number of people through the doors, and it was lovely to see so many new faces alongside our familiar CPCAODS family. ❤️

And we have to say… it was also brilliant to see so many men in the room! 👏😂 Made in Dagenham may have some fantastic roles for women, but there are plenty of great opportunities for the men too!

We hope everyone had a great evening, enjoyed meeting the production team and is now feeling excited and raring to go! 🎶💃🕺

The journey to Made in Dagenham has officially begun… and we can't wait to get started! 🧵💪🎭

In fact, we’ve already heard reports of people practising their Essex accents in the office this morning and randomly singing “Made in Dagenham!” out loud… 😂🎶

We think it’s safe to say the show has already got under your skin!

🎭✨ TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT! ✨🎭

It’s finally here… Made in Dagenham enrolment night! 🧵💪🎶

If you’re thinking of joining us tonight and wondering what on earth happens at an enrolment night… don’t worry!

🕢 We officially start at 7.30pm but why not arrive a little earlier and have a chat with some of our current members? We’re a friendly bunch (honestly! 😂) and there’ll be plenty of people there to give you a warm CPCAODS welcome! ❤️

Tonight you'll get the chance to meet our fantastic production team:

🎭 David Hulme – Director
💃 Lindsay Taylor – Choreographer
🎼 Lisa Manley – Musical Director

You’ll also get to meet members of our committee and of course, our Chairperson, Kate Walker!

David will tell us all about Made in Dagenham, his vision for the production and what to expect from the auditions. Lindsay will talk about anything and everything dance-related 💃🕺 and Lisa will be there to give us the musical lowdown! 🎶

There will also be the opportunity to collect your audition pieces, whether you're interested in going for one of the fantastic main characters or joining our brilliant chorus!

🎤 Auditions will be held on Sunday 13th September, so tonight is the perfect opportunity to find out everything you need to know.

Most importantly… it’s all very informal! Come along, have a chat, meet some lovely people and find out what being part of CPCAODS and Made in Dagenham is all about.

Whether you already know you want to audition, fancy joining the chorus, or you're simply curious and want to come and have a look… YOU ARE VERY WELCOME! 🥰

🎭 ONE WEEK TO GO! 🎭

The countdown is officially ON! ⏰

In just ONE WEEK, we’ll be holding our Made in Dagenham: The Musical enrolment night - and we want YOU there! 👀

📅 Tuesday 1st September
📍 St Mary’s Centre, Clitheroe
⏰ 7.30pm

Based on the true story of the women who stood up and fought for equal pay at Ford’s Dagenham factory, Made in Dagenham is a brilliant mix of laughs, heart, fabulous music and larger-than-life characters. 🧵💪🎶

And before anyone says it… YES, there are loads of fantastic parts for women! 🙌

BUT MEN - THIS ONE ISN’T ALL ABOUT THE WOMEN! 😂

There are some great male roles in the show too, with plenty of opportunity to get your teeth into some brilliant characters. 👷‍♂️🎭

Whether you’re an experienced performer, a regular CPCAODS face, or someone who’s never stepped on stage before but has always fancied giving it a go - come along!

You might just find your next role waiting for you… 👀

🎭 WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PROPS MANAGER! 🎭

Ever watched a show and thought, “I wonder where they got THAT from?” 👀

Well… this could be the role for you! 🛠️🎩📦

CPCAODS is looking for a Props Manager to join our production team and help bring our next show to life.

From finding the perfect piece of furniture, to creating those little details that make a scene believable, the props team plays a HUGE part in making the magic happen on stage. ✨

🎭 What does it involve?
🔹 Sourcing, making and organising props
🔹 Working with the director and production team
🔹 Keeping track of what’s needed for each scene
🔹 Getting creative and thinking outside the box
🔹 Helping make sure everything is in the right place at the right time!

You don’t need previous theatre experience — just a creative mind, a practical attitude and a willingness to get stuck in!

And don't worry… you won't be doing it all alone. You’ll be part of our brilliant backstage team, surrounded by people who love theatre as much as you do. ❤️

Whether you're a seasoned backstage pro, a crafty DIY enthusiast, or simply someone who loves a good challenge…

And yes ladies… there are some absolutely fantastic roles for women in this show! 🙌

BUT… before the men start thinking they can put their feet up, this definitely isn’t all about the women! 😂👷‍♂️

There are some great male roles too, with brilliant characters, plenty of personality and opportunities to get your teeth into! And of course, there’s plenty to do in the ensemble too. 🎶

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who gave up their Saturday to help prepare St Mary's Centre for its exciting next chapter! 💙
Today was no small task... every flat, backdrop, fly curtain and ALL of the stage lighting had to come down ready for next week's roof insulation works. 🛠️

It was dusty, dirty and definitely hard work but every bit of it brings us one step closer to a warmer, more energy-efficient home for CPCAODS and all the wonderful groups who use this fantastic community hall. 🏛️✨

We couldn't do it without people willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, so thank you to everyone who helped today, you were absolute stars! ⭐
Now... if there's a secret millionaire out there looking to help preserve a much-loved community venue for future generations... our DMs are open! 😉💷

🌟 Our NODA Review is Here! 🌟

We are absolutely delighted to share that the NODA Review for our Summer Serenade is now live!

A huge thank you to Dawn-Marie Woodcock for taking the time to attend and for writing such a thoughtful and heartwarming review of our concert.

One passage that perfectly captures the afternoon reads:

"Summer Serenade returned to St Mary's Church with all the warmth, inclusivity, and musical generosity that have become hallmarks of this annual Clitheroe Parish Church AODS tradition."

Dawn-Marie also praised the beautiful setting of St Mary's Church, the musical direction of David Hulme, the wonderful accompaniment of Trevor Lord, and the varied programme that gave both chorus members and soloists the opportunity to shine.

We're incredibly proud of everyone who helped make this concert such a memorable afternoon, and we're so grateful to everyone who came along to support us.
