It’s been two weeks since an incredible day at Clitheroe Rugby Club, celebrating the life of Edward Hacking in true rugby spirit. 🏉💙
From the Vets game vs Holmes Chapel Rugby Union Football Club, to the Past Players Lunch, to the final whistle in the Clitheroe 1st XV vs Oldham Rugby Union - ORUFC fixture, the sense of community, respect, and rugby values shone throughout the day. It was everything Edward stood for.
We are absolutely thrilled to share that, thanks to everyone’s generosity, we have raised an amazing £6,800 for two charities very close to Edward’s family:
💛 Field Nurse
🚁 Air Ambulances UK
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support we received:
🙏 A huge thank you to our event sponsors:
• Hill Dickinson
• Graham Engineering Ltd
• Fellside Farming
• Acute Civil Engineering Ltd
👏 Thank you to everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, bid in the auction, and supported in any way. Your contributions made a real difference.
🎁 A special thank you to the many people and businesses who donated raffle and auction prizes, your generosity was truly outstanding.
🍻 And of course, thank you to our amazing volunteers and bar team who organised, ran, and kept the day flowing smoothly. Events like this don’t happen without a dedicated team behind the scenes, and we are grateful for every one of you.
Days like this remind us what rugby is all about, community, connection, and supporting each other. Edward would have been proud to see the club, past and present players, supporters, families, and friends come together to celebrate his life.
Thank you, everyone. 💙
