Not Bali as in the island, but the lovely Barley at the top of Pendle Hill! Ever ridden up to this stunning spot? It’s a real challenge to get there, but once you reach Barley, the view of the Lancashire countryside makes it all worth it.

The cyclist in the red jersey is actually a local from the Clitheroe Bike Club (you might recognise him too!) – I know him well. 😉

Do you have a favourite place to escape? Place to ride your bike or simply walk? I used to call this painting ‘Socially Distancing Cyclist in a Forest’. I painted it during the pandemic, a time we’ll all remember, when keeping our distance was a part of daily life. 😖
Back then, cycling through a forest was one of the few ways to stay fit, breathe fresh air, and escape the isolation without being around crowds.

But now, this painting has a new title: ‘Into a Forest I Go to Lose My Mind and Find My Soul.’

We might not need to socially distance anymore, but the forest still offers something special - a place to disconnect from the noise, clear your mind, and recharge away from the endless scroll of social media.

In this painting, I've captured the essence of Gawthorpe Hall, embraced by the beautiful park on a glorious day. The began this artwork during Painting Padiham 2021, marking the first event post-lockdown. Through this piece, my aim was to convey the feelings of hope and renewal 🎨🌳.
