We’ve got no Royal Mail collections now until Friday, so online orders will be picked and packed bright and early Friday morning for dispatch on Friday afternoon.
Had to close as it wasn’t safe for the shop team to travel to and from work, but we’ll be here the usual six days a week Friday onwards 👍

We just had a Sandnes delivery so Peer Gynt stocks are looking healthy again, along with loadsa NEW stuff. We’ve got even more shades of Tynn Line, plenty of Merinoull including a super cute pink, Alpakka Folgetrad, Alpakka Silke… SO. MUCH. YARN 😍😍

Oooft she’s a beauty.

This super super spesh Mulberry silk is just one of the rolls we’ll have out at our fabric pop up next month. Ain’t that colour just glorious?

A proper luxurious one for a fancy pants dress for a summer wedding? Or a cute floaty cami top? Or ya know, something to just sit and stroke ‘cause it’s just so flippin’ lovely. We won’t judge 😝

We always recommend starting with a DK weight yarn when learning how to knit.

Why?

Well, DK is a bit of a middle of the road weight. Imagine you’re Goldilocks - super chunky is too thick and can feel clunky. 4-ply is thin and can be fiddly to work with at first. DK, on the other hand, is like that perfectly cooked baby bear porridge. It’s just right. 👌🏻

It’s also most likely to be the weight of yarn the garments you actually want to wear are knit with. A DK jumper feels cosy and warm, but also fits under your coat nicely without leaving you feeling like a woolly Michelin man, ya know?

So if you wanna learn to knit, but you’re not too sure where to start, begin with a ball of DK and a pair of 4mm needles, and you’ll not go far wrong (that’s three columns to the left of the white pillar, 4 columns to the right). 👍🏻

We often get people asking if all the lovely knits in our window are for sale and sadly they’re not (but you can learn to knit ‘em yourself!).

Our samples are here so you can see what some of our yarns and patterns look like knit up. You can see how the yarns behave, how they drape, what they feel like next to your skin etc so that you can figure out what yarn you wanna use for your knitting (or crochet) project.

They’re a bit of a mix of knits we don’t wear anymore (or that it’s too hot or cold for 😆), knits we’ve been gifted from shop friends and samples from some of our yarn brands, but you’re more than welcome to try any of ‘em on if there’s something you fancy knitting for yourself.

And obvs, if you have any questions about any of ‘em, all you need to do is ask - we’re always happy to help you out. ☺️

Alright fellas. We know some of y’all can’t always make it to our fabric pop ups so we’ve got a bit of a treat for ya. A butt tonne of fabric remnants and precuts are now online so you can get your fabric fix, well, right now No Frills Knitting // Meg. Enjoy!
