🌟 Hildegard: Celestial Revelations 🌟

Hildegard of Bingen was a remarkable 12th-century woman who, for 800 years, was left largely forgotten. Today, her treasure trove of illuminated manuscripts, writings and songs form a new tapestry in the world of choral music.

The freehand, wide-ranging and elaborate shapes of Hildegard's melodies show a composer who was in fact strides ahead of many of her contemporaries. You will hear some of these original chants performed by ACC in this special concert.

As well performing other choral masterpieces from across the centuries that echo the themes and texts of Hildegard's work, ACC will also premiere a new series of chant arrangements by Esther Bersweden. These contemporary settings elaborate and harmonise upon Hildegard's iconic and groundbreaking style, paying homage to a remarkable musical legacy.

If that isn't enough, there will be Interval drinks and some atmospheric lighting to make your evening at St Paul's Clifton even more special. Don't miss out! 🍷🌅

HEAR US LIVE! Our next performance is on Sat 2nd May at St Paul's Clifton!🌟

We are proud to be performing a half-hour slot at the OEM Music Marathon - 6:30-7:00pm - as part of a 12-hour live music extravaganza 🎶

Come and hear us perform fabulous choral music by Anton Bruckner, Esther Bersweden, Edvard Grieg, Kerensa Briggs, William Walton, Amy Beach, and some hauntingly beautiful chant settings by the great Hildegard of Bingen... not to be missed.

Entry is completely FREE, and you can make a donation to support Borderlands Charity and One Equal Music, as well as grabbing a drink at the bar and taking the live music happening all evening!🍷

As well as a world premiere by our very own conductor, Esther Bersweden, expect music by Byrd, Handl, Howells, and Peter Warlock. There will be some great hymns for you to join in with too.

Reflecting themes of mortality, faith, and the soul’s journey beyond the world, no stones are left unturned in the Songs of Farewell, one of the masterpieces of the 20th Century choral repertoire.

We are looking forward to returning to St Paul's Clifton for our next concert, Songs of Farewell, on Saturday 8th November.

No stones are left unturned in Hubert Parry’s Songs of Farewell, one of the masterworks of 20th century British choral repertoire. We are excited to share these rich motets, together with works by both early and contemporary British composers, with you.
