SUMMERTIME
An exhibition of work by local artists with creative workshops.

What?
Discover original artworks, prints, ceramics, and more, all lovingly created by talented local professional makers.
Also come to slow down, unwind and participate in creative workshops led by experienced teachers.
All work for sale.
FREE entry to exhibition.

Taster workshops:
During the exhibition there will be taster workshops running from Monday to Friday, where you can have a go at a new art form, taught by the artist and teachers from the show for £10 per ticket.
Each session runs twice daily at 10am and 2.30pm. They will last for about an hour and a quarter.
All materials are provided but you may wish to wear a painting apron!

There are 13 artists exhibiting - painters, printmakers, photographers, jewellers, ceramicists and more.

Cornwall - you’ve been a delight and fuelled our combined loves of art and tropical gardens most spectacularly!

So many highlights:

•the gorgeous view from our cottage up a creek on the Helford River
•Trebah gardens with its own beach for swimming
•the Lost Gardens of Helligan - like the Kew of Cornwall!
•Morgans Gallery in Falmouth
•Tate St Ives with the amazing work of Ro Robertson
•Barbara Hepworth stunning sculpture filled gardens
•More tropical gardens in Roseland peninsula at Lamorran & St Just’s church
•Kurt Jackson’s amazing show about his obsession with foxgloves (which I totally appreciate as they are in every hedgerow!)
•Hardy Exotics nursery which is how all nurseries should be!
•The Potager Garden Cafe - the sort of setting in which cake should be served!!!

Next week my ‘at home printing residential’ begins and I can’t wait to begin!!

Introducing the community art installation ‘HANGING BY A THREAD’ opening next Friday April 24th in the front room of the as part of The Green Shift Festival.

Playing in layers with plant materials - I think it’s fair to say I’m a more is more kinda artist so the 4 layers of colours floats my botanical boat and gives dense tangled vegetation vibes … but I can see merit in the 3 and 2 coloured versions too - swipe to see!

Today I’m continuing to slowly work through the brilliant course:’Landscape Print & Paint’ from by

These are my first trace monoprint experiments in 2 colours (using what I had rather than worrying about life like!) on colored paper … maybe another colour layer to come … and some collage experiments adding coloured papers to monotone prints.

I’m enjoying taking my time with these - using sketches I’ve done outside and those from the course photo bank.
