LOOKING BACK AT 2022 - AND FORWARD TO AN EXCITING 2023!

I've been a bit lax in posting any updates, photos, or videos of events that I have been playing at over the 2022 Festive Season - purely because either I've been so busy dashing from one event to another or I've been concentrating on making the parties I've played unforgettable!

I'm incredibly grateful to everybody who filled out our Online Booking Form (https://forms.gle/wfBBv32ETv5DWcuWA) and let me be a part of their special occasions, from birthday parties, weddings, Christmas parties and more. I've had such a blast and I can't wait to see what 2023 has in store.

I've had so many people asking what my calendar is looking like for the coming year and, it has to be said, it's looking very busy already. If you are looking for a boutique events DJ/AV service and are wanting Beautiful NOISE Sound + Light to take your occasion to the next level, I'm not bragging or anything but it really would be best to book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

As for my own goals for 2023, I have some plans for expanding my rig setup to really deliver a showstopping presentation for my clients, from a beefier sound to more key lighting effects and washes, from more room uplighting and effects for the wedding season and much more. Watch this space as more spectacular elements are added to the beautiful NOISE stage show!

40TH BIRTHDAY MARQUEE PARTY, Pudsey Leeds

Client: DJ Simon P.A. Enterprises

It’s a 'smart casual' event for me tonight as I'm on the grounds of a VERY nice gaff in Calverley on the outskirts of Pudsey in Leeds - I'm DJing Ola's 40th Birthday Party and I'm rockin' a slightly slimmed down rig to fit in the space allocated.

I'm also testing our some new purchases, too: these very handy Xvive Audio Wireless adapters which I'm very impressed with so far - this will definitely come in handy for any situation where I need to place a speaker some distance away and can't get a lead to. My speakers are Bluetooth enabled but that's great for short PA applications - this should make longer form setups easier to setup.

Looking forward to this event - sounds like it's not going to be the standard stuff and I like a challenge!!

20th December 2021: CHRISTMAS PARTY NIGHT, Royal Armouries Museum (New Dock Hall), Leeds

The last one of my Christmas Parties, held at the Royal Armouries, which served as the ideal dramatic venue as we wrapped things up before Christmas Day - Simon, Martin and Neil had other parties to play throughout the week, of course, but this was my last for 2022.

The Monday before Christmas is always a challenge to play, as people are either a little far out from the Big Day to properly celebrate or still suffering from any celebrating done over the previous weekend! That being said, this bunch - while being 'quality if not quantity' - came to party and party they did!

I do love playing on a stage, I feel like quite the superstar DJ and it always forces me to give it the 'big star' treatment, taking control of a crowd with some huge tracks and plenty of personality on the mic. Sometimes a bit much, perhaps, but nobody's kicked me off stage yet so I count that as a win!

I'd like to play more at the Armouries next year and I'll be pushing Simon to fill my diary in the venue, unless I get a residency of my own - if you are a room that wants to raise their game with the entertainment in 2022, get in contact with me by DM on this page or by mobile at 07732 966766. 18th December 2021: CORPORATE CHRISTMAS PARTY, John Smith's Stadium Fantastic Media Suite, Huddersfield

The cold and misty weather actually served a cracking purpose as it bathed the Stadium in an ethereal glow and provide an incredible backdrop to this last Christmas Party for the venue before the big day itself.

The party was for a safe manufacturer, of all things, and the invited team were more into standing around, drinking and doing some serious networking/smooshing/management arse-kissing, to be rather frank! But those that were up for hitting the floor, did so to some very niche music, off the beaten track, and hit the floor HARD.

Again, the team at the venue were incredibly professional and very diligent in the face of pandemic - everyone felt safe and secure during their time inside. All-in-all, an amazing way to round out the festive season at the Fantastic Suite and a solid advert for how to host a well run and atmospheric event. Great stuff!

11th December 2021: XMAS PARTY NIGHT, John Smith's Stadium Fantastic Media Suite, Huddersfield

Not going to lie: I can't remember who exactly the event was for at this Christmas Party. All I remember was, they were absolute party ANIMALS - they partied from the second they entered the room, they sang to the songs played during dinner and they didn't stop until they were ejected from the Stadium! Vets, I believe. They know how to celebrate.

And they picked one hell of a venue to do it in - with the Fantastic Media Suite overlooking the grounds of Huddersfield Town Football Stadium, it's an impressive view. It's also a venue that really made sure everyone felt safe and secure, making sure all members of staff and security were masked and vaccinated, and security checking COVID passes at the door. A solid and professional setup.

I had an absolute blast!!!

4th December 2021: CHRISTMAS AT THE ARMOURIES XMAS PARTY, Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds

The Royal Armouries is one of my favourite venues to play at, for its scale, its sense of drama and the professionalism of its team. For that reason, parties continue to flock to the venue, even in the face of COVID, knowing that they make every effort to screen those attending, those working and those entertaining in situ - including myself. I had to demonstrate my vaccination status and negative test results simply to play on stage. As it should be.

A full room, a party crowd that simply could wait to get on the dance floor (even while the desserts were being served) and great sound system proved by Simon Asquith - add what I do to the mix and we had an amazing Christmas party right out of the gate. This evening set me up nicely for the rest of the party season...

27th November 2021: THIRSK ACTION GROUP CHARITY DINNER DANCE, Angel At Topcliffe, Thirsk

My first Christmas event of the year was held in a venue that I've played at a number of times this year, the gorgeous and classy Angel At Topcliffe.

This Charity event has been run annually for decades now, inviting some local movers and shakers to raise serious cash for worthy causes and this year - as well as serving as their return to form after the break imposed by last years lockdown - they went all out to raise a phenomenal amount, easily in the five-figure range.

They had a chap who had been their regular compere since the very first event, some 32 years ago, fly back from his current home in Spain to host the night so I supported him the best I could, along with supplying the music for the disco at the end. However, the guests said they were very impressed with my presentation and so there's a good chance I may be taking on the role at next years dinner! A big endorsement, you could say!

A cracking night at one of my new favourite venues. And a great way to start the festive season.
