It's 32 years since Grimethorpe colliery ceased producing coal and closed. Brassed Off, written by Mark Herman, portrays the troubles and hardships faced within families, the community, the colliery brass band and the final closure of the pit. The play, adapted by Paul Allen from the screenplay, brings these struggles to the stage. It's gritty, funny, powerful, poignant and in some places, deeply sad. Don't miss out on this moving, timeless story portrayed by our fabulous cast along with our own super talented local Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band. Directed by Giles Atkinson.
