Starting your dance journey the CCDA Classical program introduces the younger dancers to the core dance genres of ballet, tap and modern theatre. Whilst the CCDA Urban Chorus program combines Acrobatic skills with Urban Dance. Classes are supplemented by workshop days, summer schools, competitive dance festivals, performance groups. ACHIEVEMENT:
We firmly believe in your success, and offer as many opportunities as possible to advance your dreams and enjoy your dance. We offer ISTD examinations in Ballet, Tap Jazz and Modern Theatre dance, as well as in house grading opportunities for all other genres. CCDA young leaders have the opportunity to develop this national qualification as we are an accredited Sports leaders qualifications centre. PERFORMANCES:
The highlight of the performing year, all pupils have the opportunity to perform in the annual Summer Show. Dancing, singing and acting in a professional theatre with costuming, lighting, staging, rehearsals and a big enthusiastic audience. All CCDA pupils also love the annual presentation of awards day, which is the chance to celebrate progress with their family and perform in a low key show. Other opportunities include local pantomimes, fashion shows, many charitable events, pop videos, local fetes and community fundraising. Some notable performances have been at Painswick Wearable Art Festival, the Royal International Air Tattoo Fairford, Her Majesties theatre London and Sadlers Wells London. Opportunities are also available internationally with Disneyland Paris performance being a firm favourite. PROGRESSION:
We regularly support pupils who wish to take their dance skills to nation level, and have achieved Royal Ballet Associates, as well as the Urdang Academy,Italia Conti and Laines Theatre Arts School Associates. Past Alumni have gone onto many of the top vocational schools. We offer audition coaching and further targeted progression. Online coaching is also available to those in UK and worldwide.
