We’re so pleased to announce our lineup for this Saturdays Evidence event! We’ll be welcoming these sensational poets and performers to our stage to explore the topic of Hand-Me-Downs

We’ll also be having back for a Sunday workshop exploring the same topic 1pm-3pm!

Unfortunately, our Rag Scran team can’t be here on Saturday night but feel free to bring in outside food and as always BYOB ♥️

Tickets are £3 on the door and online and as always BYOB. You’ll also be able to see the beautiful artwork from our recent show STEVEN.

Keep your eyes peeled for our lineup and menu release and for info regarding the next workshop!

Fancy performing? We have a constant open call (link in bio)! We accept applications from everyone, regardless of experience, but encourage femme, POC, q***r, neurodivergent and disabled artists to apply. If you’re at all nervous about performing contact us and we can set up a rehearsal ♥️

Come down before 8pm or after 9:30pm on Saturday and then on Sunday afternoon till 10pm if you’d like some items of clothes mended and darned by Pam free of charge!

To all those who have expressed in interest in walking in our cat walk on the 27th of May for our upcoming show and exhibition I invite you to come down to RAG this weekend so we can get to know you! 🐈💋✨

If you’ve applied through the link, fantastic… If not, that’s fine too! Come along, bring some friends and loved ones, we want this to be a fun, social, confidence boosting experience.

Calling all Designers, Artists and Confident Movers !

For this next showcase we are excited to be hosting an exhibition venturing into the beautiful world of fashion and textiles, fabric and touch. Accompanying the preview event we will be staging a 'salon' style cat walk throughout the installation. Salons, or 'fashion parades' have been held in Paris since the 1700s. Unlike the modern staged 'cat walk', we are hoping to host a more intimate apartment style walk, emulating the earlier Parisian shows with models walking throughout RAG Gallery from room to room, studio to studio, exhibit to exhibit. We hope by letting models walk with less constriction, exploring the space naturally, the walk will be more enjoyable and accessible than the rigidity and pressure of a modern cat walk.

Though we encourage applications from designers and this show focuses on fashion and textiles we want applications in all mediums! Further, we will continue to welcome and support more intricate proposals, ie: installations or site specific work. Please contact us directly if you have any questions about this.

CONFIDENCE IS KEY

We are also looking for a number of models to walk in some beautiful clothes. We want applicants of all sizes, genders, abilities, races and religions. We want this show to be representative, inclusive and uplifting, so people will all body shapes, sizes and types feel confident. All applications will be accepted to the casting stage.

Old faces and new faces at Rag last weekend for the preview of Through The Cracks.

All feeling super lucky to work with such beautiful souls. Here are some shots of Dan and Jordan, their video and sound installation mixed in with some images from the preview! Thanks to everyone for making it lush x

|HIGHLIGHT|

If you weren’t lucky enough to catch the work of and last Saturday, here’s an overview of their sound and video installation. We are hoping to rescreen this soon.

“We often experiment with screen-space and electronic media to achieve something nostalgic and reflective.

The intention is usually to return to a piece of ourselves that we might not have fully explored or processed in the past. “

Both Jordan and Daniel play with raw recorded sound and visuals in the introspective piece, exploring the ego, humility and grief.

“Look inside yourself and find forgiveness for your own transgressions.
Allow yourself to feel pain without letting it consume you whole. Succumbing to pain without forgiveness is a fools game. It is tempting to chase your own tail into oblivion just to gain some clarity. “

Jordan and Daniel encourage viewers to be still and fully explore yourself.

THROUGH THE CRACKS

A massive thank you and congratulations to all the artists who are exhibiting work at our most recent installation THROUGH THE CRACKS. Everyone has worked incredibly hard and it shows! The exhibition will be open on the weekend when are taking over the downstairs to sell some lovely vintage items. Be aware that some of the film pieces will be unable to be seen until our next EVIDENCE event.

Here are some install shots from last weekend. We have photos of ALL the artwork exhibited so if you’ve shown with us and want more images (than the 10 insta allows🙁) then please get in touch!
