The Alabaster Jar

The Alabaster Jar Pottery Painting and Ceramics Café The Alabaster Jar is an independently run paint-your-own-pottery studio in Chorley, Lancashire.
(312)

We provide a relaxing and friendly atmosphere where you can come and spend some quality time painting bespoke pottery products for your home or loved ones. We also sell Take Away Kits so you can continue the fun at home too. Finished items take a week to be fired before it's ready for collection, so if it's for a special occasion, be sure to leave yourself enough time. We don’t take bookings other

than for our party packages and late night openings, so call in whenever you're free and spend as long as you like painting with us. We do recommend however, to call ahead for groups of 6+ to ensure we have a table large enough to seat you all together. Please note that during busy periods such as weekends and school holidays there may be a wait before being seated. We are located on a residential street, so please be mindful of our neighbours when choosing a parking space and consider car-sharing wherever possible. If you are able, we would discourage parking on Hindley Street to reduce any inconvenience to our neighbours.

Some lovely new stock in the studio, and just in time for our adult only MY TIME evening on Tuesday 28th July. There are still spaces left on the evening so give us a ring if you want to join us for a relaxed night of painting without any kids!

The evening runs from 6pm till 9pm so you can come along anytime between then, but be sure to leave yourself enough time to choose and paint your item. Our staff will talk you through the process on the night and will be on hand to give you all the assistance you might need. If you want you are welcome to bring drinks and nibbles, including alcohol if you wish. The cafe will still be open for hot drinks and cakes if you want too.

We would encourage you to car share wherever possible and if you are able, we would discourage parking on Hindley Street to reduce any inconvenience to our neighbours.

There's no fee for attending the event so the only cost will be for whatever you choose to paint and anything from the cafe should you choose. We do take a £5 deposit per person at the time of booking, but this is reduced from your final bill on the night.

Please note that you’ll be sharing a table on the evening, depending on your group size and the number of other painters booked on.
