Well , what a way to finish our 40th season of concerts!
The Bateman Bros gave a stunning performance last Friday . Alan and Ian were joined by Jerome Davies on bass, Trevor Whiting on Clarinet, Craig Milverton on piano and the fabulous Nick Millward on drums. All World Class musicians performing in Ongars Budworth Hall. Thank you Chaps!
Our next season will kick off in style with the first visit to the club of the legendary trombone player Chris Dean . Chris runs the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and has a hand picked small group within it called Chris Deans Swing Shift. This will be an outstanding way to start season 41 and we can’t wait to present the 9 concerts to you.
More in due course, in the meantime enjoy the Bateman Bros and their rendition of Blue Turning Grey.

Don’t miss the final concert of our 40th season at Ongar Jazz Club! On 22nd May we have the fabulous Bateman Brothers returning to the club to perform their Louis Armstrong show. This will be a spectacular way to finish what has been a super season of jazz concerts for us. This Friday at Ongar Jazz Club we have the return of the ever popular Kevin Grenfell and his Jazz Giants. Kevin has not visited the club for a couple of years and his return has been greatly anticipated! Some tickets are still available to purchase either by calling our booking secretary or on the door. £15.00 is the price . The Budworth Hall is easy to find in the middle of Ongar High Street with ample adjacent car parking. The bar will be open and food is available on site. This will be a very enjoyable evening of jazz music and light hearted entertainment. Do come along . This Friday 20th March at Ongar Jazz Club we have the return of The Pete Rudeforth Jazz Band. This great band will comprise Julian Mark Stringle on clarinet, Andy Flaxman on trombone, Tim Huskisson on piano, Sandy Burnett on string bass and John Elmer on drums. Pete can’t be with us on this occasion, but we will be joined by Mike Magic Henry , his colleague in the Chris Barber Band playing trumpet.
This will be a great night if very special jazz music.
Tickets available on the door at the Budworth Hall for £15.00. Music starts at 20.00. Parking available next door . Food availabile on site and the bar is open!

What a superb evening we had at Ongar Jazz Club on Friday evening ! The Djangoliers returned to a packed Budworth Hall playing fabulous French Gypsy Jazz . It was a very enjoyable night. Thank you so much to Simon, Robert, Andy and Zak for such a wonderful display of musical virtuosity.
We are lucky at OJC to be able to present jazz music of such a high standard.

Our first concert of 2026 was a great start to the new year! Simon Nelson’s Dixie Mix gave a very exciting performance last night . The audience were very appreciative with loads of positive comments on the evening. It was a great night of live music with superb vocals from Simon and Tony .
