Thank you to everyone who joined us for 'An English Summer's Evening' on Saturday. It was a glorious evening of sunshine, Pimm's, picnicking and beautiful music.

We hope you can also join us for the 'Americana' fundraising concert by newCHOIR next Saturday as we raise money for our 155th anniversary commission.

Join for their summer concert on Saturday 13th June. They will take you through a songbook of stories from Robert Bridges, Charles D'Oleans and traditional French verse. Set to music by Finzi, Debussy and Poulenc, with additional delight of Cecilia McDowall's setting of the Shipping Forecast.

Bring a picnic, raise a glass of Pimm's and join us for 'An English Summer Evening' with beautiful pieces by Rutter, Elgar, McDowall and Stanford. Picnic and Pimm's from 6:30pm followed by the concert at 7:30pm.

Join us for the next event in our fundraising music series, on Sunday 31st May at 4pm in the Town Hall. This concert is generously being put on for us by Eight in a Bar, who are conducted by Bernard West with a line up of very talented local singers including CNCS members Nick Watkins and Sian Thrasher. We're very grateful to them for offering their support to our 155th anniversary fundraising and hope to see lots of you there!

We had a fantastic time performing a variety of settings of the Magnificat on Saturday night. Many thanks to all of our brilliant performers including Margaret Lingas, our soprano soloist, Bernard West on the organ and piano and Winchendon Brass.

We're looking forward to our Spring concert ‘Magnificat!’ on Saturday 11th April. A joyous programme featuring settings of the Magnificat text, accompanied by the Winchendon Brass. The first half of the programme begins with a glorious fanfare, and then takes us on a journey through the ages looking at different settings of the Magnificat text (Palestrina, Wood, Stanford, Dyson). The second half features Rutter’s incredible setting in a version, arranged by Benedict Goodall for choir, brass quintet and piano.
