I love this little donkey. There’s something so gentle about him, the soft face, the kind eyes, and that lovely stillness donkeys seem to carry. As the season starts to turn, he feels just right: warm, simple, and full of quiet character.
I always think pieces like this make very special gifts, especially for someone who loves animals and would enjoy having a little piece of original artwork to keep.
Drawn in chalk pastel on A3 paper, this original piece is available now as part of the collection.

A gentle note on commissions in time for Christmas gifting.
If you’d like a portrait finished, framed if needed, and on its way to you before Christmas, I’ll need the brief and reference photographs by mid-September.
These pieces take time, and I never want to rush something that’s being made with care.
After that, I’ll still be taking commissions, but I won’t be able to promise December delivery.
So if you’re considering one for Christmas, this is the moment to get in touch.

The kingfisher has made its way into the shop as a coaster. Kingfishers are mostly a flash of blue, gone before you've registered them. I love the thought of this little but vivid bird becoming part of someone’s everyday space, beside a morning cup, on a desk, or tucked into a favourite corner of the home.
A small, useful piece of the collection.I tried to hold one still long enough to paint properly, and the result has gone into the coaster range.
Available now through the shop on my website. link in bio.

This piece came from the many walks I took while living in France.
I loved the plane trees lining the path, the shade they cast, the light breaking through, and the Pyrenees always sitting quietly in the background.
It holds a little memory of those walks for me: the trees, the path, the mountains, and the feeling of being gently led through the landscape.
Drawn in oil pastel on board, this original piece is available now.

Ok, the sun might be shining and you’re no where close to thinking about it getting colder or even how fast the festive season will creep up on us but how about giving someone a really special gift this year? Why not commission a portrait as a gift in time for Christmas, you can contact me this week and plenty of time for this to be ready in time.
Think of someone opening a portrait of someone dearly loved under the tree this year, two-legged or four-legged, now is the time to start the conversation.
A commission usually takes a few weeks from agreed brief to finished piece, with extra time for framing if you’d like that too.
We’ll work through the photographs, the details, and the feeling you’d most like the piece to hold.
Please get in touch if you’d like to talk through an idea.

I love this painting as a book cover, it's bright, colourful and has a cheeky face popping out, perched on a flowering branch on the journal cover. I painted this in watercolour, inspired by one of the regular visitors to my garden.

Plain pages inside, ready for whatever you want to put in it. Through the shop now

There’s something so quiet and graceful about a swan on the water.
I love the way they seem to glide without effort, while the water around them tells the story of their movement, the soft ripples, the reflections, the little shifts of light following behind them.
That was what I wanted to hold in this piece: not just the swan itself, but the feeling of it moving gently through the water.
Drawn in oil pastel on A3 paper, this piece is available now as part of the collection.

One of the loveliest things about commissions is seeing where they end up.
So many find their place in family homes, on landings, in hallways, beside old photographs, or near pictures of the same animals taken years apart.
By then, the piece has become part of the house, and part of the way that animal is remembered and loved.
That touches me every time.
If you’d like to talk about a commission of your own, please get in touch.

A blue tit, in a coaster. From the watercolour bird range, painted from the regular visitors to the bird feeder outside the studio window. Small enough to scatter across the table, sturdy enough for daily use. Through the shop now, link in bio.

Sunflowers always take me back to my home in France.
They grew all around me there, and their beauty never really left me, the warmth, the colour, and the way they seem to turn so openly towards the light.
This piece is a little part of that memory.
Available now as part of the original collection.
