I’m busy working on a clematis stained glass panel for RHS Badminton Flower Show, inspired by flowers in my own garden. There are 76 pieces of glass in this design and I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve fired up the kiln to ‘cook’ layers of paint!

For the first time I’m joining other members of for their big annual exhibition in Miserden, near Stroud in Gloucestershire. I’m very honoured that they’ve allowed three of my stained glass birds to hang among the fabulous work by people I would describe as ‘proper sculptors’. Having visited for set up today I’m really excited to go back to have a wander round the beautiful garden and find all the sculpture. As well as the garden displays there’s also an indoor exhibition of smaller work. Miserden is an enchanting quintessentially Cotswold village, with its own pub. Well worth a visit!

Here’s the info…

Exhibition opening: June 3rd to August 2nd, Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm
Location: Miserden, Stroud, Gloucestershire,GL6 7JA
Getting there: Best by car or bike, but bus may be possible from Gloucester. It’s about 10 miles from Cheltenham or Gloucester, about 8 miles from Stroud.

Studio 21 at has been a hive of activity this weekend. Saturday was a ‘garden ladder’ day, but sadly I didn’t take any photos (too busy!). Yesterday was a copper foiling workshop and these lovely hangings were made. Only one of these makers had done any copper foiling before!

Dave embraced stained glass making by doing both workshops and learning two sets of skills. Impressive!

If you want to have a go at copper foiled stained glass my next workshops will be at Take a look at their website for full details.

You may have noticed that I’ve been a bit quiet on here for a while, but I do have a good excuse! I’ve been on a big adventure, travelling further and for longer than I’ve ever done before. My phone is full of inspirational photos and my mind is packed with amazing memories. Now I need to unpack, sort the post, do the washing, and start to process all the ideas that need to flow into my creative work. Where to start???
