Our aims are to support artists in this locality, to help them to develop and improve their skills and to meet people who have similar interests.

A few of our photos from our plein aire session in Monkton Park today. There would have been many more but I managed to spill hot chocolate all over my paintings and had to go home to change. Thanks Wendy for cleaning up my chocolatey intense pencils for me! Luckily I made it back to Rivos after a quick change to meet up with some of the crew for lunch and a chat. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our Summer BBQ soon. What a great day out we’ve had!

Come along and enjoy working in the landscape in any medium. Bring a chair, art materials, hat and water although the Cafe will be open and if too hot you could work in there. See you there.

And Mike Stone's talk on the Raynor Family brought alive the history of Chippenham through artists of the 1800's.
Next month we are going to be taking ourselves out and about Chippenham - en plein air 😊

Another great day yesterday at Chippenham and District Artists. Cream tea, lots of goodies at the Bring and Buy sale and a chance to have a lovely get together with the group. To top it off we had an interesting talk by Mike Stone, who entertained us with a talk about The Rayner Family’s artistic connections to Chippenham. Come and join us at our next outing when we have a plein aire session at The Arc in Chippenham on Monday 20th July, 1-4pm.

Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday 12th July at 2.15, we will be holding a bring-and-buy sale of art equipment and materials, bring along anything you’d like to sell, or share with the group. There will also be cakes and refreshments.

Then at 3.30 we will have a talk by Mike Stone from Chippenham Museum, where he will tell us all about the Rayner family, a dive into local art history.

OOOPs! So sorry our last post had the incorrect date - our talk by Mike Stone about the Rayner family is actually on Sunday 12th July at 3.30 to 4.30.

Also on that day, at 2.15, before the talk starts, we will be having a Bring-&-Buy sale - bring along all your unwanted art equipment and materials, and some cash in case something catches your eye . And if thats not enough to encourage you to come along we will be having a Cream Tea! 🍰☕️🫖 Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Glyn's Monday session this month was in the garden of the Angel in Chippenham. We had a wonderful opportunity to paint together in the early summer sun. Such a lovely afternoon with an enthusiastic group - guided by our resident tutor Glyn Overton.

Next session is Monday 1pm, 20th July at Brewers Fayre, West Cepen Way, Chippenham. You're welcome to come along.
