When you book your wedding photographer there are some key shots that you understandably want them to capture. The walk down the aisle, the signing of the schedule, the confetti throw and the family photos 🎉

As a storytelling photographer (with an editorial eye 😉) I am always on the lookout for additional images that capture the atmosphere of your day. Whether that’s happy tears, hugs, quirky details or images that show off the setting in a wider context, it’s all part of the story.

When you book me, that’s what you can expect to receive - yes I’ll capture the obvious images that you definitely need but I’ll also capture a whole load of additional photos that you didn’t even realise you wanted 💕

I’ve been keeping a secret.

Well, actually, I’ve been keeping two!

This week I photographed two “secret” weddings - secret to everyone who wasn’t to be in attendance.

After each ceremony I raced off to edit a handful of photos so the couples could make their official announcements the same day.

I have to say, it’s all been rather exciting!

Do I have any other secret events coming up? Don’t ask, I’ll never tell! 😉

Sometimes it just can’t be helped.

If you photograph a wedding ceremony overlooking the 18th hole at a local golf resort on a sunny Saturday afternoon, there are bound to be some golfers around! 🏌️‍♂️

But that’s where post-processing comes in.

As a rule, I like to keep my images as true to life as possible but I felt compelled to remove the golfers from this image to help elevate it for my couple.

A little bit of editing magic.

Yes

The photos might look ok straight from camera.

But!

Editing and post-processing can really make the images stand out. It’s an art - not just editing individual images, but ensuring consistency across a whole gallery.
