Making a 250-year-old church nervous...

Marshfield Male Voice Choir is competing at the Mid-Somerset Festival.

St Swithin's Church, Bath. Stone walls. High ceilings. Exceptional acoustics.

Whether that's a gift or a warning, we'll find out together.

This festival has been running since 1902.
It has survived two World Wars.
It has not yet experienced Marshfield in full voice.

No microphones. No safety net.
Just voices, harmony, and whatever happens when sound hits ancient stone.

Community choirs kick off at 2.55pm if you want the full afternoon, but competition time is 4.50pm.

If you’ve ever sung in the shower and thought, “That wasn’t half bad,” we’ve got just the thing. Marshfield Male Voice Choir is back for a brand new term – and we’re on the lookout for new voices to join the fun.

No need to read music. No auditions. No solo spotlights (unless you really want one). Just turn up, have a go, and see if it hits the right note for you.

🎄 FORGET NETFLIX. ACTUAL HUMANS SINGING CHRISTMAS TUNES!

Saturday 6th December at 7.30pm, the heavenly harmonies of the Marshfield Male Voice Choir will be filling St Mary Magdalene Church, Tormarton, with more festive cheer than you can shake a mince pie or fake tan at!

And as if that weren’t enough to make your tinsel sparkle — the wonderful Nicky Russell will be there on flute.

🎁 THE OTHER GOOD BITS:

💒 Doors open at 7.00pm, so get there early, nab yourself a good pew and avoid that awkward British shuffle of knees and handbags.

🎶 A fabulous mix of traditional carols and some rather lovely modern tunes — from the shower cubicle to the church pew.

🍷 Festive drinks and nibbles before and during the interval — and let’s be honest, that’s half the reason we all go, isn’t it?

💷 Entrance is FREE! (Yes, free! Just a retiring collection at the end, so you can pop a few coins in and feel saintly about it.)

💫 THE NOBLE BIT:
All proceeds go towards much-needed church repairs.

Bring everyone who loves a festive scene,

What a wonderful send off for Rev. Sally Wheeler at her retirement party on Saturday!

Wishing Sally all the very best for her retirement from the boys in the Marshfield Male Voice Choir.

Our next concert is at 7.30pm this coming Saturday, 1st November, at St Mary’s Church, Marshfield. It’s a joint concert with the fabulous CitySound Voices choir in aid of Cancer Research.
